Scotland
What did peeps put as their nationality?

British or English? Or Scottish or Welsh, you know what I mean lol

Scottish. And I hope that pisses the barstewards right off.
I imagine this information to be used against us in a discriminating way?
If so how will we tell the difference! lol

I dunno if it was the same on your forms but interestingly enough Polish was also an option on the ones we got in Scotland.

Don't you think this went way beyond a proper census.
Personal thoughts survey more like.

I fail to see how, if it is truely advantageous to an individual to fill in a census form, why it would be necessary to threaten a fine for not doing so. Surely it wouldnt be necessary, to threaten people, just offer them this golden opportunity to make their lives better:p

We were born free, and will die free, lets pay some consideration to the middle bit. Gathering personal information by force is offensive:mad:

Seems like a human farm livestock audit to me

Born free my arse.
Is it still a prison even if you cant see the bars...
Your a Subject in this country.
The terms of Serfdom have changed a bit in the last few centuries but they still hold fast. The slavery these days is to the wage.

Think im talking shit? Try not paying your rent / mortgage/ council tax. Try driving down a street with no mot, tax or insurance

Its not actually a legal necessity to travel abroad with a valid passport. But just try it and see how far you get without one.

Google Freemen on The Land . They are full of shit too.

The terms of Serfdom have only changed 'a bit' in over 200 years? Nah, it is bonkers to say the role you are expected to play in contemporary society is akin to slavery. What country do you think people are born free if not here?

If every fucker decided not to pay rent, council tax or insurance etc you think the country would be better? What we have here is not perfect, but it is relatively civil and fair- thus preventing the shocking act of slavery for lower classes, amongst other exploitations. Who is to pay for this civility most enjoy if no-one wants to work?

I don't understand the problem with passports at all. At the very least they serve as a deterrent for loads of crimial shite- sexual slavery being one.

I personally thank my lucky stars i was born in this country- it's ace:thumbsup:

I kind of agree with how you feel regarding being "free", but I believe that a child is born with a free spirit(pure i guess) and that the enslavement is an aspect of the outside influences slowly crushing that spirit of individuality. At the moment of death i guess we will be free once more:|
How depressing!

Couldnt agree more, a wage is no route to freedom, there are not enough working hours in a lifetime to save enough to retire, and if there were the gov would raise taxes to prevent it. Business and investments are the only realistic way of becoming more independent. This is not taught in state schools for a very sinister reason IMO

I have paid no rent mortgage or council Tax for quite a few years now, and I dont intend to start doing so:thumbsup:

Nor will I answer questions if I dont want to.

The car mot ins and tax is one aspect I do comply with at present, but im always on the lookout for a loophole!

Freedom is in the mind. I feel free enough and that's good enough for me I guess.

If I felt put upon or enslaved I would say so.

I'm generally happy and have a good life. I don't look too hard for the bad or negative.

I'm not a fool either, I know that we have certain rules/laws/customs that may inhibit my freedom. I also know that some of those rules/laws/customs actually afford me some protection from others that may abuse freedom if they had it!

Yeah, our society is not perfect .. . but I don't think it's too bad.

My mind is free, my heart is free and that's the best kind of freedom and the census won't make one jot of difference to that. . . .it's just a bit of paper.

Just my freely given opinion.

P.S. sorry to quote a politician's wife . . .but a good quote which has some connection here.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" - Eleanor Roosevelt

Total nutjob wankers.

I've had many a good argument with those spastics in the last few years

They fail to realise the state can make life very very unpleasant indeed if you become big enough of a nuiscence to the apparatus.

The bits where they have coppers turning away after refusing to give their names while spouting their bollocks. ... to my mind
1 they look complete fucking mad men
2 Its not worth the coppers time filling out the forms and other timewasting hassle, relevant to the infraction that brought them to the coppers attention. But i'm sure if they wound the copper up enough on the wrong day, they would be cooling thier heels in a cell if they touted that horseshit or not

Being free sounds great in theory, but being free means free from all your worldly possessions and begging for everything you cant provide yourself with. I suspect most people going it alone wouldn't last very long with no healthcare, no money to buy food, fuel, shelter, travel etc.

Being free is selfish then if you're relying on others to provide you with all you need to sustain yourself as it means robbing some of our salary in taxes to keep you alive and healthy. Money that we could all use to have a better lifestyle. You could always beg though, but to me that doesn't sound very appealing.

I think a visit to most third world countries would show us that the best examples of true freedom isn't all it's cracked up to be, unless you're happy to take away the safety net and become self sufficient as part of a tribe. Yep they're free alright - as long as their community isn't devastated by deforestation, a drought or whatever, but if you're lucky enough to survive birth, you'd be very lucky to have a long & healthy life.

Freedom for me is the time I get to do whatever I want after work, at weekends and on holiday. Maybe the best I could hope for is more flexible hours to accommodate my lifestyle better.

The census is a pain in the arse to fill in and a bit intrusive, but if it helps oil the machine better by recalibrating here and there based on the info, then it's a small price to pay for we've got.
