FFS, aaaaages ago, my Logitech Z4 speakers started to go. Basically, one of the speaker ports has gone, although after looking online (at what seems to be a very common fault with this model) it is apparently something to do with the remote, and some sort of connection.

I decided to call Logitech, where they were the most blatantly unhelpful company I think I've been in contact with.

"If you don't have a warrenty, I can't help you. We also don't do repairs"

"So you can't help AT ALL with what we both know is a fault with this model? No suggestions? Anything?"

"No"

Fucking clowns. I'd say that I wouldn't buy another one of their products, but I probably will as they're the best.

I bought my speakers for £35 - about 2 and a half years ago...which is cheaper than what they go for now even!!! It's so gay, I just want them fixed. I can't find a philips head screwy at the mo...but I'm just gonna crack it open myself and get my solder on. fuck it.

If I can't fix it, can anyone recomend a good quality and reasonably cheap alternative? I use it from my computer, the Z4s are loud and clear for what I want...although I'd be tempted to get some 'proper' speakers and an amp if I had to.

AGGGHHHRRRRR. rant over.

Look on Amazon and other review sites and read the reviews. They tend to give you a good idea about what to buy based on the ratings from user experience:thumbsup:

I'm not sure many companies will help you with products out of warranty though as they've no obligation to, so that might not be fair comment:S

I know, it was just his "I don't give a shit attitude". I knew they wouldn't take it back, but I thought they might have some advice seeing as people will have phoned them before. Maybe what the fault might be in relation to...just something where manners were involved even.seriously, that guy sucked.

that's a bit crap loz, tbh i don't own anything by logitech except for my mouse, they are good at those but i wouldn't buy speakers from them.

so annoying tho innit, crap customer service is one of those things that really winds u up, and there's no need for it grrrr  i had a similar thing happen last year with sky, they sent me a new viewing card thru the post, and when i inserted it into the box it killed the fookin thing. i asked em to come and sort it out, and they wanted to charge me £60 for the callout cos the box was out of warranty, so i told em to get fooked, and stopped the direct debit cos i didn't want to pay for a service i wasn't receiving. then they sent the bailiffs round, wankers lol. ended up upgrading to sky+ hd, cost me £50 quid for the box and they fitted it for free, so i got a new hd box and a geezer to come round and fit it for less than the cost of the original callout, pisstaking b@stards grrrrrr lol

contrast that with the service i've had from oakley recently. one of the arms snapped off my sunnys, so i sent em back for repair, and i was expecting to pay for it cos they were out of warranty. they phoned me a couple of days later and said sorry, we ent got the original parts in stock, we only have the titanium frames but that's not ur fault, so we'll give u those instead for the same price as the repair would have cost u. so i got a brand new titanium frame (usual cost £65) for £22. result :D

now that's customer service

If you have a stereo/hi-fi with a phono input or seperates with an amp then maybe this would be a cheap alternative.
