My cousin who now lives in Preston was already into it when he showed me how to DJ on vinyls in 2001. In 2002 I started to collect Now That's What I Call Music CDs and had Nows 50, 51 & 52. My younger cousin then came over from Wakefield with 3 that my older cousin in Preston had finished with. Nows 26, 32 & 34. I listened to them think how much better the music was in the 1990s. By 2003 the music in the charts had got a bit boring so I decided to get old skool music and have collected more & more. At school & college my class mates use to hate me about the fact that I was becoming more & more old skool and they use to tell me things like this:
FFS that music is so yesterday why don't you listen to things like DJ Casper, James Blunt or McFly.
In 2009 I then found Kickboot or Brett as he is known (A PR DJ) who sells 100s of vinyls in a shop. In January 2011 he introduced me to PR. I wasn't too good on there so I found OSA in March 2011 which I really enjoy listening to. I was also introuced to another old skool station RP by Kaz Bucky in June 2011. After a few teething problems I'm now doing ok on there as well.
So that is the story of how I got into Old Skool music.
