IMDb - Page Eight (2011)

A BBC film with a great cast (check Ewen Bremner in a serious role for a change!)

Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) is a long-serving MI5 officer. His boss and best friend Benedict Baron (Michael Gambon) dies suddenly, leaving behind him an inexplicable file, threatening the stability of the organization. Meanwhile, a seemingly chance encounter with Johnny's striking next-door neighbor and political activist Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz) seems too good to be true. Johnny is forced to walk out of his job, and then out of his identity to find out the truth. Set in London and Cambridge, PAGE EIGHT is a contemporary spy film for the BBC, which addresses intelligence issues and moral dilemmas peculiar to the new century.

Happy New Year Everyone

Recommend watching this....

Animal Kingdom (2010) - IMDb

With (surprise surprise for an Aussie flick) Guy Pearce.

The actress who plays the mum is up for a Golden Globe.

Not your typical gangster movie with lots of tension and an underlying theme of survival of the fittest/police versus the crim.

Ben Mendelsohn who plays a nasty piece of work in this was also in the excellent Beautiful Kate.

Its Good.

Just watched Due Date Due Date (2010) - IMDb It's a new take on Planes Trains & Automobiles, with the bearded dude from The Hangover, and his pet dog. It's laugh out loud funny in some scenes and i've just woken up in the middle of the night still giggling at some of those.

Before that I watched Piranha Piranha (2010) - IMDb I actually enjoyed this more than I expected I would and not just because Kelly Brook got nekid with some other chick :hubba: It's a boobfest at times and doesn't have much of a story, but has (in spades) plenty of good old fashioned flesh eating effects mixed with modern techniques.

I watched Super Super (2010) - IMDb last week. Yep it's definitely not up there with Kick-Ass Kick-Ass (2010) - IMDb (which is brilliant in my opinion. At least 9/10  ) It's very dark with little humour, but has some laugh out loud moments. The feisty side kick certainly makes this more enjoyable too ;)

I watched The Guard The Guard (2011) - IMDb earlier in the week. Not as funny as some of the comments suggest, but for the Irish slant on a comedy thriller makes this well worth watching. I agree with the average score there too, so 7.5/10 from me
