You ever bought a tune you like the A-Side straight away & did not like the B-Side but eventually started to like the B-Side & you still like the B-Side to this day & totally gone of the A-Side.

Sometimes some tunes you like straight away fade away quicker but the ones you was not to sure about you end up liking more & thinking this is a actually a great tune & still like it to this day.

Some tunes is about it's arrangement & you can only appreciate that type of tune when you have listened to it from start to finish, like a story a journey etc

have you totally gone off mentasm tho Pauly? I doubt that very much#

btw don't think Ive ever been able to exactly pinpoint what grabs me in a tune? I just know it when I hear it. And if I could, I'm not really all that sure I'd even be able to proper articulate that into words, Im no poet or writer.

Altho I think for me nostalgia plays a big part. Also modern production techniques turn me right off. A good tune is a good tune but its not as simple as that:S

gone for bassline, but cant really pinpoint it, if its funky it grabs me phones: one thing that i have found though is often when a tune hits me instantly, it has a short life span, yet its those that didn't jump out at me at 1st that grew on me that seem to end up being timeless

I voted Filth as there wasn't really an general option for 'sounds' - as in the main elements that make up tracks which aren't the bass parts.

Interesting sounds/noises/acid etc always get my attention more than anything.

phones:

That's what I meant by filth :D

Obviously being gay its the synths that generally do it for me although has to be backed up with a great drum pattern, some magic from tb303 and well selected samples can also add to a track.

Depends on my mood, some days breakbeat and hardcore next Italian garage, next pre house disco/electro etc.

When I get it on the deck, at first its about the beat, gotta be a good catchy beat, sometimes its pretty generic but, well whatever. I like an atmospheric intro as well, that gets my interest. It must fit together, very important, even if if cuts quite quickly, must fit together. A good vocal or sample catches the ear as well, as do a buzzin riff or piano or funky rap, and not forgetting a gorgeous bassline that resonates with the beats. The whole rhythm section should just chug along naturally. Covered most things there lol. Not answered properly but well fook it haha:thumbsup:

I like everything from cheesy euro to underground techno, but i hate just as much in both genres. I was just listening to [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRtHy-FddJs]LSG - Fragile Part 2 - YouTube[/ame] earlier and for me this whole tune is taken from decent to fantastic just because of that double percussion hit every 4 beats. I have no idea why that works for me in this track, but i love it. And Age Of Love (Watch Out For Stella mix) is a classic track, but personally it does my nut in, even though i generally love stuttery vocal effects (sorry don't know the musical term) that they use on those angelic-type vocals.

i reckon its exactly the same as liking a lass. it changes every time, and who the hell knows why. They say humans are generally more attracted to faces that are symetrical right? I read that somewhere. I would love to see some science on musical taste.

I couldnt agree more with ilovepiano tho - "You just KNOW, even after only a few seconds if you like it or not.", and paulyp "noises that sound like they shouldnt exist". Any sound i've never heard before immediately picks my attention. Most stuff on the list at the start has worked for me at some point in time on different tracks.

I don't know if this was aimed at my comment about enjoying "stuttery vocal effects", but yeah i love this track. Perfect example, intentional or not :)

Unintentional, but
The Fluke mix Horse is one of me secret weapon's Btw :D

Edit: only just listened to the youtube link and whoever recorded it has it pitched up slightly, so take that in to account if its on your wants list now

over there
I like it when a tune just flips out midway through on a different tangent for a second and takes you totally unaware then recovers back to itself. A few that do but I can only think of one at the minute lol ( at 1 minute 57) (p.s the guy who uploaded this is a proper gayer but he has a few good tunes ;) )
