Hmmm quick flick thru & I'm not convinced - it's a bit too rave by numbers... & the tunes aren't in keeping with the year it's meant to be

I'm a grumpy fucker aren't I :D

In fact the more I think about it the more it boils my piss... playing Ken Doh - Nakasaki at a Blackburn warehouse party is just wrong... so is Sonz of a Loop Da Loop - Far Out from an earlier scene grrrr

We watched it tonight and both thought it was poor.

Badly cast, they got the music wrong, the clothes wrong and none of it was believable enough, the violent scenes weren't gutsy where they needed to be and the overall feel was that it was made by people who weren't there back in the day.

Soundtrack was poor too with the exception of a handful of tracks.

3/10 and that is being generous.

Thankfully didn't buy it, else I'd have been gutted

Kiss me brown eye
It was OK... It wasn't shit by any rate.
It was entertaining if you suspended disbelief

Scotts right about music and clothes tho. Tunes were particularly terrible.. great tunes in thier own right, but not for a 91 setting.
And the rave scenes... i remember me and everyone around us losing the tee shirts after the first half hour and every fucker was dripping wet, alls they had to do was hose everyone and the ceiling down to get that one looking authentic.

They got the Salford gangs (they shoulda added Moss Side too to make it more genuine :p ) storming the doors right though.
That's one bit of back then i'd rather not remember
If slave Tony comes out with me again, ask him about one of the first Clear nights i dragged him too, he musta just left school and talk about baptism of fire!
We locked the doors and shut off all the electric and stood motionless and silent for half hour till the bastards fucked off!

Mrs Bully and I watched Weekender last night, not good at all.

The "rave" scenes as already said were not that great, but I suppose they did what they could with budget etc etc...dunno.

Some acting was dodgy, and the story was shit. It jumped around with almost no explanation at points (not that is was hard to fathom out) and some things went unexplained.

I was a bit gutted as it seemed to promise a lot more. It could have been decent had they done more research, but I suppose they needed it to appeal to the masses, which means dumbed down shit for the chivvy paying c-units today, who were never there in the first place.

5/10 just for some of the tunes and a bit of effort in actually making the film in the first place.

What did you make of it? Just switched it off 1hr40mins in, and that in my opinion was an hour too generous!

Some great scenes in it but I just wasn't digging the overall pace :-

I loved the non-Brad Pitt bits... (the creation of the universe, our solar system, the earth & evolution of life) - looked ace in 1080p. AGree about the plodding though.

Talking of shit films about E... the Yanks have now 'gotten' involved.
