enjoy m8, i love them  cant afford it at the moment though :(

heres 3 of my faves, and the 1st has to be this very version  i love the guy at 3.46 sums it up perfectly, i was lucky enough to see this tour in the Müngersdorf stadium in Cologne Germany, on a gorgeous summers night  i think all 3 girls totally take the roof of this song especially Durga McBroom also known for "Naked in the rain" i prefer this version than the original, god only knows why it didn't make it onto the album.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjfc92xm7RE]Great Gig in the Sky - Delicate Sound of Thunder - Pink Floyd 1988 HD - YouTube[/ame]

2nd choice is possibly the most emontional and powerful song i have heard. and another that didn't make the album, but i understand why.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg12PHed0zc]Pink Floyd - When the tigers broke free (Film version) + Lyrics - YouTube[/ame]

and my 3rd choice well i just love it, i could easily pick another 10 faves though :D

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCgQuj8v2gg]Pink Floyd - Fearless - YouTube[/ame]

without a doubt the greatest band an earth in my eyes

Kiss me brown eye
I cant really say i'm to 'em as such, possibly due to everyone and their Aunty playing The Wall to fookin' death as as a kid.
There was one mate who played it every single time we were at his house. Often repeatedly
Due to that i can hardly stomach listening to that one, and certainly haven't played anything off that album by choice in maybe 20 years. If any track off the wall is on the radio, i can at least let it play through these days without hitting change channel

One slip ( & , is the Album called A momentary lapse of reason?) is what gave them a second chance for me and its a ferkin' ace single!

another brick in the wall pt2 has been ruined quite simply because kids bought the single not even knowing wtf it was about, i know because i did the same before i was even a fan, and ended up loving the flip side "one of my turns" to be fair the wall has some belting tunes on but the trail is another i cant give time of day too,

i like "a momentary lapse of reason" but i think it was voted the worst album by floyd fans or possibly just the track "dogs of war" which i also like, and "learning to fly" is another tune i think shines maybee its the Gilmour thing with the album that put die hard fans off  but it was the momentary lapse of reason tour, when i 1st saw them live so the album will always have a special place, yet i hav't given Division Bell time of day.

I like the Division Bell, but it's not one of their strongest albums.

Because I got into Floyd after seeing the One Slip video on Power hour, I then bought that single, which lead to me buying Momentary Lapse Of Reason CD, which lead to me buying Delicate Sound Of Thunder CD which lead to me buying the video of the album which really exploded my interest in all things Floyd, including Division bell when it came along. Eventually I back tracked to the very beginning and didn't really feel their early stuff until a few years later, but I now love the variation in music they've created right from some of the early stuff in the Syd Barrett days, through to the end:cool:

This is brilliant if you want a real insight into Pink Floyd [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1845133668/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1845132610&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0JAHHJQV6FBHMR2QCGHD]Pigs Might Fly: The Inside Story of "Pink Floyd": Amazon.co.uk: Mark Blake: Books[/ame]

I very rarely read books, but given it was about a topic I love, I was glued to the book. There's loads of characters in the story though, so I did find myself reading back a lot to remember everybody's role in the band's development, but it was well worth it:cool:

that reminds me, someone gave me this [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inside-Out-Personal-History-Floyd/dp/0297843877/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1317235776&sr=1-1]Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd: Amazon.co.uk: Nick Mason: Books[/ame] but not got round to reading it, mainly because its big and heavy hardback and not the easiest thing to hold up in bed.

bloody nora i never noticed how much it cost as a hardcover, not a bad gift to recieve.

this BBC - BBC Radio 2 Programmes - The Record Producers, Pink Floyd is essential listening, phones:  i didn't know the half of it until i listend to this. the work that went into producing the sounds we take for granted, they learned how to sing word backwards to creat a different sound when played forward, adding reverse echo, the way they multi layered everything, this show strips the tunes right back letting you hear the vocals only the counting ins etc, it gave me shivers in places its just a must for any fan, just for a quick spoiler forward straight onto 55min Clare Torry warming up her voice on the intro of Great Gig in the Sky  she only did 2 takes off the cuff and that was it, theres some fascinating stuff here, blew me away at times. even if your not a big fan of Floyd its very interesting learning the techniques that go into creating a track. theres only about 5 days left to listen to it, but i have ripped it into mp3 so i could listen in the car, if anyone misses it

going back to the post, i think the [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Discovery-Box-Set-Pink-Floyd/dp/B004ZNACA6/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1318192799&sr=1-1]The Discovery Box Set: Pink Floyd: Amazon.co.uk: Music[/ame] is a bit of a waste of money, there is nothing new, its just got a better sound, which isn't a bad thing but if you already own them, its an expensive set just for a tweaked sound  when this [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-Side-Moon-2011-Remastered/dp/B004ZNARH4/ref=pd_bxgy_m_h__img_b]The Dark Side Of The Moon [2011 - Original Recording Remastered]: Pink Floyd: Amazon.co.uk: Music[/ame] has just been released, and these 2 are on thier way [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wish-You-Were-Here-2011/dp/B004ZNAUVW/ref=pd_bxgy_m_h__img_b]Wish You Were Here [2011 - Original Recording Remastered]: Pink Floyd: Amazon.co.uk: Music[/ame] [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wall-2011-Original-Recording-Remastered/dp/B004ZNAXX2/ref=pd_bxgy_m_h__img_c"]The Wall [2011 - Original Recording Remastered]: Pink Floyd: Amazon.co.uk: Music[/ame] there really should have been an ultimate box set released with all the bonus unheard stuff alongside Relics, Delicate Sound of Thunder and Pulse. yes you can opt to buy them seperate but if you do buy them all you already have bought 3 of them in the discovery box set :( bit of a rip off to be fair.

this is very interesting List of unreleased Pink Floyd songs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and a few more of these tracks on the box set would have been a great addition, i have just been listening to the early version of Great Gig in the Sky (before the Clare Torry vocal was used) it was very interesting, they just had NASA snippets all the way through. you can listen to a sample of the unreleased "Wine Glasses here [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005NO224U/ref=dm_dp_trk9"]Wine Glasses (From 'Household Objects' Project): Pink Floyd: Amazon.co.uk: MP3 Downloads[/ame] taken form the Houshold Objects project, its amazing to hear how much "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" was influenced by it.

Brilliant stuff mate:cool:

I think i've creamed my pants listening to everything from a whole new angle, which kinda puts into music a lot of what was written in Pigs Might Fly and then some:thumbsup:

The show cut out at 1:27 though:cry: I don't think it was the end of the show because it shows 1:35 on the running time and cut out mid tune, so be great to hear it again and the rest of it that I no doubt missed out on
