Calling all OSAers !!!

We've been thinking that the radio needs a face lift/revamp. Something that could increase the amount of listeners and get the masses back to tuning in to our awesome DJ's.

After a few discussions between us Mod's we decided that the only way we could come up with the best ideas is to ask the people who DJ on and listen to the radio, you lot

So, get ya ideas in this here thread and lets get the radio rockin' :rock: :rock: :rock:

Weve had a few ides floating about, things like:

Having a DJ vs DJ night or girls vs boys
Theme nights
Requests night
ladies night (this idea was floated about a while ago but fell by the way side)

But we want to hear more ideas folks so if there is something youd like to see OSA do for the radio lettuce know...... like Dan says we want to include you guys as its youre radio phones:

I know it is an old skool site but would it really hurt to allow folk to play a bigger spectrum of styles on here...might open things up for listeners.....

bigger shouty might work too...... if its possible i know i scrol a lot to see previous comments

The autobot mixes thing is a good idea... gets folk involved too We really do need a new set of mixes on there phones:

Guest DJ's always go down well.

Bigger shoutbox has been asked for time and time again, yet despite this it's never happened:S At peak times when there's 10 or more people posting it's all too easy to miss messages.

Being able to adjust the colour of your name would help loads too for keeping conversations flowing, obviously keeping gold members and mods colours separate.

I think the themes ideas are good too Debs

As for the rest of the the forum, maybe you mods can try a bit harder to create new thread topics here if you want to keep people interested in the rest of the site

And bring Sirius back

We could also have....club nights...ie dedicated nights or slots to play sets dedicated to the clubs that we all know and love....shellys nights, hacienda nights, legends nights, cream classics nights, shoom, park hall the possibilties are endless on this front....

Also back to mine sessions where you dig out all youre treasures that you love kinda john peel styleeee phones: would be nice to hear all the obscure tunes that other people have deep down in the dark depths of there collections and mix up the genres too

By styles i meant design wise - maybe a redesign of the colours/style might inject some energy/new interest?

How about an option to click to an expanded/fullpage shoutbox/chatroom as well as how it is now? So all users are catered for.

How do we do at sharing links to similar sites, and them reciprocating? I've seen the links section and linkbacks on forum posts. But I'm not sure if osa is getting enough exposure on the bigger stage.

These are all good idea, I should get my arse into gear and do my saturday slot more often. Got a bit fed up with it the last few times due to lack of listeners

web cam for sure, and a more relaxed music policy, yes i know its an old skool site, but its not just about the music, most djs started out playing oldskool house, but times and music and tastes change, i love hearing other styles. its oldskool that brought us all hear but we are allowed to discuss things that are not old skool, its time again to hear other things too. i dont mean, lets have loads of dubstep and hiphop djs playing, but if oldskool djs that are hear want to spin something else im all for it and quite interested in what direction oldskool head djs have headed

think there was some debate about this a while back and Butty had to make a decision, which he chose to be 100 % oldskool as it is an oldskool site. Other sites play all sorts due to not being a 'specific' genre'd site

yep that was the case a while ago but if we are thinking of new ideas then maybe something to think about again.....i agreed with the bman at the time but in light of stuff it might just get things going again.....i know a few folk who would love to play newer stuff - just a thought tho

maybe have a few one off nights where newer music is played. I think I still agree with Butty about keeping it oldskool as it is an oldskool site.

well thats me finished with djing on here then sorry to say as i never play it due to me getting rid of my tunes over 3 years ago
