serato is a programme , it mixes music with a bit of help from you.

Serato 'Itch' might well do as it's designed for using with special midi controllers. I can't confirm or deny that though as i've never used it.

Serato 'Scratch Live' on the other hand that myself, Benny D and others sometimes use wouldn't, because it's a vinyl solution and needs you to adjust the control records manually, the same as you'd control any recorded vinyl record. It can't adjust the tempo automatically as there's never been that feature in Scratch Live.

 100% correct, line the numbers up and press a button, little skill involved in fact the Vestax controllers either suit scratch mixing or auto mixing, thats me screwed who cant scratch and hates the machine mixing for you.......thats why I got rid of the Vestax.

I am probably the longest Mac & Serato user here i build Hackintosh/Windows dual boot even tripple boot systems & will say:

Mac: For making music
Windows: Love it for gaming :D

I have 2 Quad Core Hackintosh systems & saved myself a lot of money teaching myself how to make these.

Mac operating system: it just awesome!..can't be assed going into it if you do not use it thats your loss!..

Windows operating system: it is ok! but great for gaming! it is a money making operating system! it is a scam of a operating system.

I think you should be happy with what you use for your own reasons!

Serato! i have had it disconnect for ages now but that Rane mixer Shooms posted has got me interested again! with Serato built into the mixer that is just awsome! i am really thinking about selling my Allen & Heath 92 but do i want to sacrifice my warm analogue sound i can't make my mind up at the moment!

Would'nt mind having a go at turning a Laptop into a Hackintosh Laptop!

It's about the music not really what its played on ( ive used serato , traktor pro , still prefare turntables allways will! ), not the mixing either although good mixing makes it all blend nicely together into one big record which is also good.

But if your talking from a dj's point of view i know where your comming from , mixing does matter to us.
