Mmm not convinced.. Seems like a bit of a sell out which fits the standard tracks that feature on every "classic house" / "oldskool mix collection" out there... but then there are some classics you never hear on those type of comps.

I don’t know what to think

Disapointed sums my thoughts up lol

agree^^^impossible to ignore the anthems and it would be an expensive box set of uber rare cuts that makes up the enthusiasts dream release, would make for an awsome series tho, Hac, Shelleys, Amnesia House, Shoom...the list goes on

....TBH, thats such a wounder that Parky mixed it, I know he's the top boy there, but on the flagship release??? and prob likely to be a studio type mix, not a box of records and decks, or not...maybe I shouldn't comment without actually listening to it, but I feel your disappointment man...If I were in charge of a Shelleys version of the same, it would be mint mintolla, peter perfect in everyway...but I would prob suggest that there should be a different release for each "night" that ran there, the music changed sooo much from mid '90 to early '92 didn't it, if you go back another 12 months it's even more diverse...can't sum up the whole exp in 3 cd's.

i find the whole fac 51 thing a huge cash in nowadays.

iv been to a few of the nights and they have generally been a massive let down and in no way reflect what it was like. i think the nights are more for those who didnt go but personally im ashamed that the great club is relected in such a way. I think when parky is at sankeys he plays proper tunes and puts the effort in but at other places he doesnt and changes tunes according to who he thinks the crowd are. at the last one last saturday whoever it was on decks was playin some tunes from 99 when the club was no longer open, how is that a hac night?!?!? it was just a load of non descript instantly forgettable sh1te rather than packed with classics.

i think the past is best left in the past but that said i will go to the december one at sankeys in the hope it will, for a few hours at least, take me back to the good old days

I used to really like the old ministry of sound releases the old Ibiza albums and viynl double packs they did

Now it's the same old releases re badged and packaged year after fucking year

It must make them money plain and simple

I've not bought a commercial old Skool collection for years ! As I have most of the tunes I love on vinyl already

Let's face it - it's a commercial enterprise so there has to be a surfeit of tracks that everybody knows. Credit them for for throwing in a few that may not be recognised by the title, but are familiar when hearing. It seems like a good compilation to me, but I would have liked to see it build up through the separate discs - start it off with some classic downtempo tracks (balearic, dare I say it!), moving up through more uptempo stuff. And for a club that was open from 1982, there's a bit too much emphasis on the recognised 'house' years between '88 and '93.

For me, the Mike Pickering section is by far the best. But that's from somebody who only went to the Hac a couple of times! My weekends were spent at Legends in Warrington.

Compilations are always difficult to get right. it's hard to do what's been done 100 times before and also there is so much red tape. Overall I think it's got some good tracks :)
