Probs that I have had, most are very recent.

1, Unable to log in to livegigstream to turn auto on/off...I'm not on my own here but this prob seems to be erratic and other members with different connections are unaffected.
2, Auto DJ stopping and not starting again until someone can log in to do so, this is very recent as far as I am aware.
3, Being disconnected whilst playing but still online elsewhere, I was constantly being disconnected on Monday night but had no probs with the rest of the web and my cpu was low/mid.

I have had a few prob along the way since I started playing on here, but all of a sudden it's gotten worse and I am trying to determine whether it's my connection, laptop...whatever it is I need to fix it cos it's doing in me swede and I could do with a bit of help, point me in the right direction if you can please...:fekked:

Cant help Dave. The only probs I get intermittently is the site not loading up properly and the radio not displaying. I have noticed the auto DJ offline quite a lot recently so have switched it back on whenever I can.

Really, you need a wired broadband connection thru a analog to digital preamp and onto the pc. A wireless connection is open to interference.

If you're using a wi-fi connection into a laptop, could it be the speed of the wi-fi card you're using? I'm no big expert on computers but I seem to remember when I used wi-fi and had to buy a card for the laptop you could choose depending what speed connection you needed. For example, a cheapo card was fine for emailing and surfing but if you wanted to download you were better off getting a faster card. Similarly, if you wanted to watch films etc you needed a better card. I know when I tried watching stuff with that laptop, having bought a basic card as I only really needed email / web, that it would run slow / freeze etc..

I will speak with Butty Dave but it sounds like it could be your wifi connection, I used to have a few problems when wireless so I just hardwired the bugger and it runs 98% smooth.

I'll PM you my number so you can wing us a txt when ya need auto on or off if ya struggling

I just ran a check for download and upload speeds at 7.20am for my 3 network wifi dongle...

download was 7.48mb/s
upload was 1.69mb/s

again 2 mins later...

download was 5.8mb/s
upload was 2.1mb/s

how does that compare to hardwired broadband?

this was the doodah that I used to check it with

Broadband Speed Checker - THE UK's No.1 Broadband Speed Test

just done a check at 11 a.m.

8.15 down
1.62 up

i'm on bt infinity but my numbers can go much higher depending on the time of day (i was promised 26meg LOL).

i read this thread last night and thought you might have a dongle. when i had hard wired internet through pipex (who are shite) my missus used to have a vodafone one for work. total bollocks. had to back up almost every page she was working on in case the signal dropped out and she could only get a signal if the laptop was on the windowsill in an upstairs bedroom! luckily her company changed the way they work and now she can use our wifi instead.

edit: 7:45pm

well according to the testing widget in Jonathan1990's thread on exactly the same thing...I have a,

download speed of 8.8mb

upload speed of 2.2mb

on a 3 network wifi dongle.

Another contributing ballache could be my lappy, it may just be too old now, I have 4 usb inputs but not all are the same standard??? I occasionally get a msg informing me that "this device could perform better on a different usb port"...so I will just have to live with that until I can upgrade the hardware to rule out that potential prob...but still...it was only livegigstream that was fking me over...could watch youtube and use Soundcloud without issue.

Gonna stop this thread and join in J1990's instead.

I dunno what to suggest really...I was running sweet as a nut for ages , never mind...more space for everyone else with a working connection...prob all down to sneaky ISPers doing us a wrong un.
