I cant be bothered at the moment with Royal Mail and their constant driving up of prices. I just about break even on UK single record parcels anything else I am now losing money. Im going to have a great big sort out and sell my records through discogs very cheap but with minimun postage of £3.99 plus £1.00 for packaging for up to 2kg etc and only use Collectplus.

Whats your thoughts, just a bit pissed off about my record parcels now hugely subsidising everybody junk mail and paper bills.

I've slapped £1 ontop of what I used to charge and that has sorted it more or less..also started to buy mailers by the 50 to subsidize the post a bit more...it's just one of those things that have to be passed on, petrol goes up..taxi fares go up..tiz a shitter but have had no complaints after ashort explaination

Cost me £3 1st class the other day to post one 1st class.

That's ignoring mailer and u could argue about the time n expense to go post office PayPal fees n shit

To be honest this is the main reason I don't list on Ogs - got lots to sell but can't be assed goin post office for a tune that sold for 99p.. The post cost doesn't justify the purchase

I think this is why eBay has gone wank - told there are some good courier firms so maybe best to fook Royal Mail off

1 disc (approx 360grams but allowance is 500 grams) in a mailer with 2 stiffeners is £4.10 first class recorded delivery, I never give anyone any other option other than to accept this, never had a prob or a complaint...apart from Americans who can fk right off anyway.
If you don't send recorded, you leave yourself wide open to a claim up by the buyer via paypal...had it done to me, never again.
lol..I had an Italian dude buy a tune from me for 50p..hahaha , no shit...it was one I , of many,I had reduced in the hopes people would buy a few cheapies along with the main order, I reckon it cost me 20p to send him the disc...hahahaha..still fkn £100's up on it all though so it will never work out that I lose out.

You could split the cost by upping the record price by 50p and upping postage by 50p that gets you a quid back ??

Just looking at postage prices in Uk some peeps on Og's charge £4 fixed for 1 to 4 records thus making a bit of money when they just post one record this subsidises any losses when they post 4

I posted 5 in one mailer yesterday inside the uk cost me £6.99 first class this was with 2 stiffeners in there aswell.

You could also save money by just posting on a Friday saving fuel and time instead of going to the post office a few times a week.

I am disgusted at the moment with Royal Mail. I posted a record the other day from work, first class recorded (on our franking machine) and it cost £4.20!!!!

That is scandalous to say I have just bought a tune from Belgium and they charged me 1 euro 50.

I've just bought a tune off a guy called BIG_STYLE on Oggs and its 2.60 postage

It looks like a business account franking, it came saturday

I have just payed 4.50 postage for a tune!:ba:
Saying that the tune was of a good price considering.

so...he charged £2.60 but the price of postage on the package is £4.50?

he's either putting £2 on top of every record price and hoping the postage pulls you in or...he's throwing them in with his work postage and hoping the boss doesn't find out. :cops:

Yes, i've also noticed the prices for postage on the up on Discogs, Ebay etc. Many sellers are offering deals for taking say 1-4 items for £5 for example.

The worst offenders are 'Vinylsearcher' on the net - they charge £10 p&p to the UK - you're having a laugh!!!

I asked a seller a couple of days ago how much delivery would be on 20 records? He told me it would be £15 second class. Its just too expensive on top of the price of the vinyl. Sellers need to offer alternatives to royal mail or we all lose out. By the way, what is the cheapest way of sending vinyl?

I use collectplus for sending anything over 1kg in the Uk. For example 5 up to 20 records I charge £7 for the economy service.
