Hello all, I feel like I’m in Hardcore Heaven finding this website, I don’t know about you?!

Anyway, I’m looking anything and everything regarding the Rag Market Rave held in Birmingham during May of ‘91, as I am going to write a short story about the event (for a Commonwealth Games Anthology to be released towards the end of this year).

I am trying to find people who went and experienced a night I slightly too young to attend and wished I’d been able to, as I remember hearing all sorts afterwards for many months from friends’ older relatives (some a lot older!). Anyway, if either of you do or know where I can get some quality source material, please get in touch.

Nice one, Darren.

Welcome Darren(y)

I assume you have seen the the video of the event ? if not heres the video below

Thanks man, for the welcome and the videos. Yes, I have seen them so do you know of anyone who may be on this site whom went to the event, or anyone who knows of anywhere else (video’s, audio files, or just through conversations) where I can gain more from the time, as really need to focus on and capture the lingo of that wonderful period, so that the fictional story has a genuine feel of the time. Cheers!

We went to one of them, can't remember which one like :ROFLMAO:
But i recall coming home with a Fabio tape of the night, which i treasured for many years later....
I've got both of the original 'Time' flyers framed on my hall wall.

Priceless man, I would love coming home to thone beauties every day. Are you from Brum/Midlands or did you travel from further afield to go to one of the nights?

We travelled down from Cheshire Darren, loved nights around Brum, Eclipse, JJ's, Humming Bird Centre, Quest, Handsworth Leisure Centre, Aston Leisure Centre are the ones i remember.... Good times!

Like a fool I sold some of the rare ones off on ebay, the one with the 2 two people holding hands...
I also sold loads of my Eclipse ones most all in near mint condtition, deffo regert that now

We all do daft shit and regret it later pal, life, at least you still have a few favourites huh!

A good dose of mine got binned when left home in '91, mainly as they got damaged/torn when taking them down or moving them as i used to use literally anything to stick them on the wall...
I did try and keep my favourites tho like Raindance, Energy, Perception, Eclipse, Dreamscape, Entropy, Shelleys, Konspiracy, Hacienda etc..
Most are stored flat in wardrobe, but i've framed a few like my Hacienda & Bugged Out posters and got them on a few walls around the gaff.
Love some of the designs!!

I worked in a record shop for most of the 90’s so was able to grab a fair few just as they were going up on the wall of the shop, which was handy (y)

Are any of you music producers. I have a bag of cassettes from coast to to coast Birmingham 1990’s. Fabio, groove, Mickey Finn, Jack Frost , sacha, Carl cox, they’re 30 years old. I want to market them but would like to know how.
