Wouldnt it be easier for those who support bullying to wear a blue band, then every f*cker can stay away from them?.......:|

Errrm, yeah, I heard about these months ago.....I dunno what its supposed to achieve though. Yeah, you are against bullying - and?. Suppose its the funds from the things to go to anti bullying campaigns etc right?..and raise awareness by people going "whats that blue band for?".

Times must have changed, because when I was at school, if you did anything like that, they kicked the crap out of you or give you some sort of torment.......like maybe nick your maths books, stuff your PE kit in the bogs or hide something in your bag so you get caught stealing sommet.....stuff thats not able to be pinpointed to an individual easy.

Well, I cant be too enthusiastic to be honest, but if it works in some way, well, why not.

Theres allsorts of bands Id like to wear, anti immigration bands, anti liberal meddlers bands, 'absurd marxist agenda' awareness bands - the list would litterally be endless .

Cheerio

i'm all for giving money to charity, but i've noticed the yellow wrist band thing getting really sad now. Ppl are paying loads for them on ebay, and although this is great for charity or whatever to begin with, others are making dishonest money for themselves buying them n then making a profit selling them.

Some people at uni have just got them because celebrities have been seen wearing them, not because they wana give to charity. Oh well, might as well make some charity money out of the sad-trendy-celeb-following-wannabees and keep the ideots happy and feeling trendy at the same time eh lol :ba:

If you want to contribute to the yellow wrist band appeal then do it here...

http://www.laf-store.org/

The bands are one dollar each, minimum of buy ten but you don't have to buy them - how about just contributing to the appeal??

BTW, testicular cancer is no fecking joke so who cares who wears a wristband or where they get one as long as the awareness is spread - its all about getting people to talk about it and getting what was once a taboo out in the open.

Good on it I say.

LOL! Look whose got a bee in their bonnet!! did i once say testicular cancer was a joke? No i didnt, so dont u dare try making out like i did because thats very wrong of you.

i firstly said that ppl are selling the things on and making dishonest cash that doesnt go to charity. and i also said that it is a good thing that these trend conscious ppl are buying these things whether it is to be trendy or not, because the money goes to charity and also makes them feel supertrendy  . I'm not saying that everyone who buys them does so for this reason, i specifically mentioned ppl who i know at uni, and the general opinion about them. Obviously some ppl like urself genuinely want to raise awareness about stuff like this, which is great.

now i'v just had to repeat myself for you, when if u'd read my first post properly in the first place u wouldnt have got on your high horse over my raising an issue that didnt apply to you.

And BTW lol, i might donate some money to this appeal, but i'll let you stick to your rubber bands thanks  each to their own.

No offence intended mart, think you just misunderstood me.

Sorry - I didn't want to seem like I was jumping all over your post there Miss C....:$

I've seen the ebay sales too, they were going on last year aswell and I think its a shame that some people try and make money out of it because its seen as fashionable. But you can order them direct from the foundation.

Re: celebs etc. The meaning of the bands gets lost after a while, but if a 1000 more people wear one because someone famous is, then even if a handful of those 1000 take time to know what its about then its worked hasn't it?

Its about testicular cancer and it would be good if anyone took time to read the website and see what it was all about. Its a good cause imho...

Yeah thats what imeant to say, uv put it in clearer terms than i did, glad you see what i mean.

its just me being anti-celebrity lol. but if it helps publicise the appeal then so be it, it does work, regardless of peoples reasons

Tis great that someone has come up with an idea that will provide money for the charities, and im glad peeps are raising awareness, but everyone who i know wear them and 90% of the public who wear them, wear them for fashion along with there pink t-shirts and spiked all over hair. In another 6 months it will be something completly different.Just like 6 months ago it was sweat bands. Proberly the red string round the wrist will be the next thing, it symbolises some faith but because madonna wear's one everyone else will.

I know a lot of peeps are buying them on here to donate and raise awareness and thats really good, its just the topman boys im on about who will wear anything that catches on.

If anyone's still waiting for one of these I've just had a great idea. Just pop along to Brinscall swimming baths and see if they have any of them going spare. Same kind of thing I suppose. :) :p
