Who remembers Dance Energy on BBC2 in the early 90s, was only 14 at the time but I never missed it.Best performances had to be Prodigy: Everybody in the Place and SL2: Way in my Brain live in the studio.Anyone else remember?

Rings a very vague bell mate, is that the one where they were all in a house and would be dancing in all the different rooms.

If I'm right, that bell-end Normski was in it as well

What an excellent program it was, infact it used to be my staple diet.......Fresh Prince then Dance Energy. Also there was that odd "Raa=piiiii-dooooh" frog at the end.

I used to love the contest bit for new talent. Infact I still remember some of the demo's like GForce feat Billie....Komix and a strange group called "DJ FORCE AND THE EVOLUTION"!!! lol.

The videos were ace too, it was the only time Ive ever seen SmartE's "Loos Control" video. I remember the Sl2 'live' gig too, when it was "Whicka wick whicka whick Sl2" lol.

Back in the day, it was quite a cutting edge program really I reckon, and sure propelled my hunger for dance music.

I long for the day ITV see sense and repeat the HitMan and Her and 'BPM' too. lol.

Sirius.

I don't think I remember Dance Energy, but I remember the programme BBC2 ran a year or two before that. Behind The Beat it was called, well decent if I remember rightly. Theres a page here about BBC2 around this time. http://offthetelly.users.btopenworld.com/factual/defII2.htm

Anyone remember Night Network on ITV? I think that was 87 / 88'ish, Westwood still had some street cred then and used to do a Hip Hop section, guests like Troublefunk live in the studio. Top notch at times.

Thinking about it now, considering how few channels were around 10-15 years ago, it's pretty mad at how we seem to have fewer quality music programmes on the box now than we did back then.

Thats very true, there used to be sommert called Snub TV on Granada, where the Stone Roses did a live performance, I think Ive still got it on video somewhere. Tony Wilson produced a load of progs back then and they were always worth watching. Is there anything worth watching / videoing these days?? Bah humbug grumble

I remember Dance Energy too, what a tit Normski was, The only thing I remember about him was that he was shagging that minger Janet St Porter

The Otherside of Midnight was brilliant and regularly featured the Mondays and other Factory bands (probably for obvious reasons!) Somewhere at me mum's I have the In the City video when the Mondays, Gerald and T-Coy played the Hacienda that was one of best Othersides.

Oh and on the subject of Dance Energy, I remember soundly taking the p*ss out of a girl from Wrexham when she announced she was going to be a dancer on it!

I have on video somewhere that actual debate about 'The Warehouse Raves', its pretty mad watchin' it now!! They even do a little dance to 'D-Shake - Yaaah', just to show the oldies how they dance!! Has MC Juice on it as well (The House Crew fame) tellin 'em the music's here to stay!! And it still is..........

I wish Tone would get something like that again on TV-That is where I first heard of the Hac and the Mondays, I was about 15 at the time. There must be loads of stuff going on in the northwest, all it needs is a bit of promotion to get the word around-stuff on dance music producers, big nights, north west artists-bands etc-or doesnt all that go on any more?

My Dad refers to her as 'Juicy Lucy', but will mention Lucy Morecock.

Dont forget Diane Dangleberry on the other side.
