Danny Rampling & Billy Nasty - Sound Factory Mastermix 1995 - two separate tapes

Two mixes that I grabbed off MixCloud. I make the Rampling mix early 1995, so have dated the Billy Nasty 1995 too. I maybe wrong though as I'm not up to scratch on harder house from this era.

Who knows where these were recorded. Hopefully they are not repackaged bootlegs that are already out there!

The club itself was quite an achievement following a multi-million pound refit. It primarily consisted of two ‘clubs’: the Dance Factory at the ground floor, largely accessed from an entrance on Milk Street, and the main ‘venue’ on the first floor. The Dance Factory was fitted-out in an industrial style following the approach taken by the Hacienda in Manchester with metal catwalks surrounding the room and everything painted in grey with black and yellow hazard sriped painted everywhere. There was a small semi-circular bar at one end of the room and a restaurant at the other that originally had a Russian theme for some reason. The main venue room upstairs was a Mecca ballroom type of affair dominated by a dance floor with a stage at one end, A balcony around three sides of the room with two bars on the lower level and two bars on the upper level. The lighting rig in particular was outstanding and cost a fortune and featured lasers among its armoury and could be moved up and down and angled in many configurations from the lighting control desk that was positioned on the balcony. Such was the complexity of the rig that the club had its own lighting director, Kay Bottomley, who operated the huge system!

I remember me & my mates being in that room when Jon Da Silva played. We were literally the ONLY people there, 4 OF US!!! He came over after and had a drink with us, top bloke.

There was also another floor above what they describe has the bingo room, bit like a chill out room but big, but the music was more chilled in there.
I used to go there most wks in 94 95 then move round to the other clubs etc..

There was a fire exit on both sides at the bk of the bingo bit, got let out there one night to go onto another party, which may have been their basment , I was a bit munted so cant say for sure

Rob do you remeber the broken mirrors behing the bar in what they are calling the ball room, jesus that used to screw ya head up :ROFLMAO:
I do mate yes, either side of the main door to the "ballroom", saying that, i never went to the bar or paid for anything in that club lol Used to just go to my old mans office and take 4 cans of red stripe lol. 1 of the blokes who had it with him actually lived in there, a little room underneath the main stage, madness as he'd be in there watching tv as nights were going on :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: That top level room is where i played a few times, had a little food place in it. Was just full of people mong'd out for the night, it certainly wasn't chilled out when i played :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You used to go there too Chris? I remember a great night they held there called Pandemonium. I think it was a monthly night. Always a good vibe in there

I was just thinking, the first time I went up to that top room, your right people were literally lay on the floor, I cant imagine they sold much food..
I think the reason I wnet up there was looking for the man who used to sell some goodies, he was normally next to the stairs that lead to the ballroom ;)
Top gezza he was and his mrs also sound, they must of been paying rent for sure
