please NOOOOO, the Live Recording From Original DAT tapes are all clear plastic tapes with Live Recording From Original DAT printed on them (like this one)

I always thought that this was a mislabeled Digweed mix. It's the same as the Strs X2 mix

I think that the Live Recording From Original DAT replaced the Love Of Life tapes Love Of Life stopped in 1997, then Original DAT started in 1998. I might be wrong, but I think that the same Graphic Designer did the covers on both. It may have been cheaper and less hassle to do printed tapes, instead of stickers in 1998, which may be the reason for the change. There was also the move to CDs in 1998. Just my thoughts. I wish someone would come forward and take ownership of their creations.

I'd agree there is a design/production link between the two listings but unless someone who produced the tapes comes forward we'll never know for sure.

Some of the tapes in both love of life and DAT sections on discogs have the same cover design. I always found it odd, the love of life flinstones, top cat, and mickey mouse designs, but it was definitely intriguing and made them stand out, which I suppose is the point...

I wonder if they were all done by the same design company who had their own library of images available, or if they were just taken from a library of images commercially available, similarly to how TV & film music libraries used to work, or if they just did whatever they wanted without any concern for the legalities, as you said.
