I know that fella, that was my point. Get with it.

Do you not mind he,s an ex-toon player? Or have you forgiven and forgotten ? More importantly do you reckon he,ll live up to his £5million billing, personally so far it looks as though Kenwyne Jones is by far the better player and consequently shows to be a better buy.

No, I think that was his half brother or cousin that was guilty of that if memory serves me.

That was not meant to be in bad taste either. Trouble certainly seems to follow him around though, unless he runs straight at it in a Banzai Stylee!

And what exactly has that got to do with joey , apart from them being related ?????

Shall we all go out and find Ian Huntleys brother ( if he has one ) and start shouting shite at him about his murdering brother ..........

Thought not ...... and do you want to know why we wouldn't (hyperthetically speaking of course) because his brother probably wouldn't be a high profile footballer and we wouldnt know who he was .........

What about the lads shouting all kinds of abuse at him .... ask yourself seriously, if your brother had commited such a crime ( god forbid ) how much goading and taunting could you take before you snapped ..... why the hell should he have to put up with all that crap .......

Im not making excuses but i personally feel his biggest mistake was being where he was at that time of night.

Warren you are quite right, it has now't to do with him directly. The reply was not meant to provoke you, I just could not resist the irony of your comment "he hadn't murdered anyone".

You should know me well enough to know it was black humour.

That said, he seems to have issues with violence and makes himself an easy target and yes I agree with you Warren.. . . "his biggest mistake was being where he was at that time of night". I'm sure his manager thinks that also.

As for the idiots who were shouting abuse at him. . .well they are no better are they. That's it.. . .he would appear not to be that much different from them really. It must be difficult for a very ordinary lad like Barton to deal with that, regardless of the money he has. .. . Others manage though and live differently?

Sorry if my reply offended you Mate, it was not my intention at all.

Cheers,
Chris.

Im not offended , just looking at it from another point of view, anyway thats alls im saying on the subject.

It looks that way. As a Forest fan (not a supporter these days as i,m no longer a season ticket holder) i,d like to see him do Sunderland proud but at these early stages reputation and grit may not be enough to keep the Black Cats up.

One things for sure he has the respect of the players and having served under Sir Brian Clough & Sir Taggert he will have learnt a great deal.

Easy to say but he should have walked away, dont give the bellends the satisfaction
Apparently (and according to the CCTV) it wasn't just actually the people who were winding him up though.

Jayne Hughes, prosecuting, said Barton had been charged with common assault and affray. "The CCTV clearly shows Mr Barton involved in altercations with members of the public going about their business," she said.

"He was seen pacing around Church Street and lashing out indiscriminately at people walking around and standing around."

Police were called after Barton was spotted on CCTV allegedly attacking two teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons. One of them was reportedly punched unconscious.

Bail magistrate Carol Myers said: "I have to consider the safety of the public - you lashed out indiscriminately."

:naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Of course with that in mind - it makes you wonder whether anyone wound him up at all or he's just saying that as an excuse

Who knows, if the evidence is there and he has behaved like a thug then he should get what he deserves. He wont get any support from the media that is for sure, they have never supported him. His track record of violence doesnt do him any favours and as a City fan it feels good to have washed the hands of the tormented soul:rolleyes:

the lad has a decent life, bathed in cash, bathed in glory. The only thing thats fucks joey barton up is joey barton! a clitche perhaps, but in my reckoning he feels like a dimwit, from a dimwit past that can divulge in somewhat bad taste and thinks its a freeable way to act. Question?? can he learn from this mistakes, after he's been shitting bricks in the jail? Answer.................not likely!! His brothers inside for murder without remand. Which leads to the question, why should he stay free seeing has his posters on many a young kids wall?......... Answer to that is simple, its not where you come from, or what you do, its a life process of "what you put it, you get out" and quite frankly i blame their parents, for bringing up a couple of failures.
