Well it seems it could be his final few days, personally i think he is a waste of space and what he did to his donor family was disgusting, unforgiving, sad to see it cause he is, was arguably greatest english living footballer interesting to hear comments.

well first up he is actually Irish mate:$ but gotta say i agree with you regarding what he did ref the donor family - lack of respect big style - can't argue that he was a top player though, and that's coming from a Liverpool fan.....

I cant help but feel sorry for the guy and his family, He was very ill, he was committing suicide and he knew by drinking thats what he was doing, He obviously couldn't stop drinking or didnt want to stop drinking, i dont know, but i think its a tragidy.
Yes i think he should be ashamed, someone was a donor for him and that shows lack of respect, but i also think it shows lack of respect for himself.
God bless him and his family. Such a waste at the end of the day he is a legend in his own right.

Fuckin' idiot.

I don't know why anyone bothers making a fuss about it, it'll be an item on the main news when he does keel over when there's much more important stuff goign on in the world.

"Bong, idiot alcoholic former footballer dies cos he's a selfish tit"

At least we won't have to hear about him anymore anyway.

On Cloud 9!!!
Agreed he hasnt seemed to have tried much to stay off the booze....but what do we know really....what the papers say :| lets face it...none of us has any idea of the real truth and none of us will know what its like to be an alcoholic (unless some of you arnt letting us in on ur your secret) :p

Im not trying to defend the bloke, simply trying to say its not that easy to give up an addiction....other illness alone and states of mind can make a person drink.....its been rough for him and no doubt the booze was his only companion thro think n thick.........this is exactly what happened to my mum and it wasnt pretty! These people lose their lust for life and their sense of reality disappears....which is why i suspect he continued drinking...he just wanted to get through what was left of his life the way he wanted to......fair enough....not harming anyone else...but the doner family will have every reason to be grieved

Alcoholism is a form of disease i`m sure he didnt want to end up like he has in the end so there is no way i`ll slate him anyhow. Happens.

Agreed.

Although he has abused a liver that could have gone to someone else, he's done that because of an addiction that he found too hard to beat and in the end it looks like that addiction is going to kill him at 59.

I wouldn't like to be an alchy, so in that context, i do have a bit of sympathy.

Back oop north!
www.
What's he done to the donor family??

In the news today it said it wasn't the liver that was the issue, apparently that's workin ok.

I agree with Northern Star. At the end of the day, addiction is an illness and we don't know what happens in private and therefore don't know the full story. Papers always embellish the truth to sell more.

At the end of the day a man is dying and irrespective of the reasons he's a human being and should be treated as such., He's not a murderer or rapist and therefore should be left to live his life in peace.

He's done wonders for british football and changed the history of the game for the future. He's done as much good stuff as he's done crap stuff and fair enough, he may not have been the best father or husband but then again no one's perfect.

Leave him alone!!! .............. so ner :naughty: :naughty:

I don't have sympathy for him, theres plenty other people in his situation and people don't say, ''Oh poor so n so'' do they. Poor George!! :S Yeah poor george and his hard life!! :S Agreed that alcoholism is a disease, and obvioulsy nobody wants to be in that situation, it must be terrible and i cannot even start to imagine what it must be like to live a life as an alcohlic, but come on,..the guys got plenty of money to sort himself out with, had a second chance with a new liver....thats more than most normal alcoholics ever have!! I think its damn right selfish, somebody else could have had that liver and seen it as a new start, cherished all the extra days/months/years it gave them!! The people i have sympathy for are his family having to see him waste his life away and the people whos relative gave up their liver, knowing that his/her liver has been abused. George best was on a chat show a little while back laughing and joking about having this new liver and yet still drinking, from what i could see he saw it as another chance to get pissed loads, yeah poor george!

Its something pretty close to my heart and i totally agree. He is a selfish person but its not that hard to get yourself straight. Its easy to say to someone give it up but is that person has been at it for years its very hard to give up. It becomes there way of life.

As i said i agree with wat ya say trace about him and especiall what he did after recieving that liver transplant. He was lucky that they could diagnose he had a prob some people dont find out till its too late :S I feel sorry for the people around him like his kid/kids and ex wife having to watch and go through all this.
