......although a majority of the venues I got to where out doors, with the organisers using 3 or 4 tranny vans hooked up to provide power to a set of speakers the size of a house
Lol - you just reminded me of one of the first outdoor raves I went to. Tons (and I mean tons!) of people just stood around in a field and all of a sudden this artic turns up, drops one side of its trailer cover to reveal a huge stack of speakers and proceeds to blast out LFO - LFO.

Magic times my friend. Top thread m8....

Harsh mate.

There's still plenty of nights that are doing it week in week out with out the mindless scum and knobs.

I took this earlier in the year from behind the 1s and 2s when I was playing. Looks alright to me. :king: I have ace memories from years gone by, but right now I'm still having the best time ever, behind the decks and on the floor. It's what you make it.

:naughty: Better than bleeding Rockport Jam Man!

No, i disagree, there are scallies and troublemakers everywhere Jammer, especially Liverpool, you've just got to find the specific clubs/bars that have the atmosphere, like hazys! Manchester's club scene aint half as bad as it was a couple of years ago. I remember a time when sankeys was "hooded out" (filled with plastic gangsters) Now it's just full of students and an older clubbing crowd, it's great.

By the way, really feeling your post Redtilldead, nice one mate

Not arsed about hoodied up crews, it's goons like these that piss me right off.

WTF?! :|

I'll bet that must have been the first night out they ever had! Bless'em. :D

Hooked

I was on the blower to my best mate this afternoon telling him about this site I've stumbled across (OSA) and what a blast I had downloading the mixes and posting old memories on the forum.......I was on the blower for 2 hours reminising about Legends in Warrington.

Anyone ever go there?, I spent my early club years there, it was a shit hole inside, half way through the night the walls where soaking wet with condensation and it was dripping from the ceiling....it was tremendous, Woody was the DJ from about '90-'92 may even have been longer, I thought he was pretty good!

I used to do Mr. Smiths (full of knife wielding psycopaths now) on a thursday, Legends on a friday and Wigan on a Saturday, then all sunday and Monday mopsing around the house avoiding conversation with the parents.

Any old legends fans out there?

Fekk in Ell.........I think it just about sums it up. Brought a tear to my eye :dummy:
A bit of poetic license on the 'stalls selling badges' thingy, I dont remember seeing any! however, while I was reading it, I was back there my self feeling all the emotions she has so clearly felt herself and I completely agreed with the lady 100% about the family feeling, wanting to keep the secrecy of the whole weekend to preserve its life and being part of something big.

Nice find m8, thank you

5 more pier memories

1. malc having his first e and not be able to play and throwing up in the bogs before asking my mates cousin to go on the decks.
2. panorama filming there, a lad called crofty from wigan decides to tell the whole nation how many e's he's consumed in that night. crofty has a custody battle for his daughter in 2 weeks. not surprisingly after this is aired he doesn't win custody
3. Kev Panda (wigan hardman) coming down the pier and telling malc and ruddy that he was playing his own records tonight. rather unsurprisingly they agreed and Kev made his debut on the decks. rumours that he was better than malc are unfounded and slanderous.
4. the appalling choice of shirts worn by terry lennon.
5. Rozalla PA. Winny from Wigan scales the front of the thing near the stage, touches rozallas hand like she is some sort of god then turns and saultes the crowd like he's scored the winner in the fa cup final. winny later ended up in hozzy that night.

5 pier tracks or good un that as we used to say.

1. seventh sense - got the music
2. manic - i'm commin hardcore
3. creation - give it up
4. oceanic - insanity (remix) dropped by sonny (manc dj) don't tell me this wasn't a big track as it was.
5. Q-Word - Thats the choice

so there you goess.
