What!! When she's still working two jobs! More like a very grounded 'WORKING CLASS' decent woman :naughty:

She did also mention education & how much it would cost for her Grand children to go to college or Uni in the future, what was he going to do about the UK's debt & also that she had voted labour all her life just like her father & his father too,her comments on the flood of 'coloureds' & how was he going to address the imigration laws was a reasonable question IMO,Its not very pleasant watching your home town slowly being destroyed by the over spill of 'coloureds' like most northern towns are!!

Try living here before you judge from afar in your nice 'suburbia' towns :naughty:  !!!

I think you missed my tongue in cheek Tilly...

I think she had every right to ask those questions, the prime minister, MPs & the government are there FOR the people & accountable TO the people... the people should never be afraid of their government; the government should be afraid of their people

So... can Brown count on your vote next week ? ;)

Oh wow a PM talks like a normal person shocker; in what should have been a private space - front page news accross the world :S
Lets hope the members of the public decide the fate of the country on this major major gaffe

Brown was losing the election for Labour without this extremely minor incident. But I do feel sorry for people who would actually to decide against labour as a result of bigot-gate

Agree with that:thumbsup:

Of course it wasn't a nice comment and it's hardly surprising the kneejerk reaction to this as if you give the media fuel then they'll burn ya, but all politicians are 2 faced cnuts as time will tell.

Having paid a little thought to the immigration situation, i cant think of a single country that hasent had british people residing there, kinda makes it hard to complain about other nationalities looking for opportunity here:S

I also strongly suspect that a large number of people who believe themselves to be "white" will carry genes from all over the world, that they choose to ignore. Family trees tell only what people are prepared to admit:eyebrow: and we all know how partial some people are to extra curicular variety:moonie:

Rather than bitch and worry about the ethnicity of our neighbours, maybe it would be better to look into what opportunities the world has to offer us and our familys, since we are privilaged enough to have that right to travel also.

How do people think the spanish feel about the brit ex pat population? we are just as guilty of imposing our ways on other countrys.

I know not everyone will agree with me on this but its a point that needed making imo:)

Tilly,

Well said Dave. Immigration is a pretty pointless argument in my opinion. Granted the system could b better managed/quota'd/scrutinised as there are obviously people who cometothe country to take advantage of our easy benefit system. However, you will never 'stop' immigration as onelook at a history book tells you hats what humans do when the going gets tough.

I have no problem with colour or race but I do have a major problem with how my home town 'Oldham' has become a disgrace, due to the over spill of 'Asians' into my community we have major problems, hence the riots we had back in 2001. Its a shame we dont have stronger immigration rules before entering our country eg You must have a trade & over £15,000 sterling just a few simple rules could make a huge difference.... Oh & I'd thought I would post you some of my family photos.....

Myself with my step Dad & Brother.....

I have no idea what your hood is like Tilly, although iv obviously heard a little about it.
I grew up in nottingham and leicester area, and I have enjoyed many a samosa, and block of lovely hand rub pakistani, nepali or indian black in my time. I have no problem engaging with the asian crew, they seem friendly enough in my experience:wave: I do think that Leicester seems to manage multiculturalism pretty well, Notts maybe less so.

Having lived in Cornwall for a decade I now miss different cultures, foods, shops, smoke etc, you cant get a decent curry, or indeed a bowl of stew n dumplin for love nor money, and just dont bother lookin for a decent imported bitta resin.

In my experience its people not socialising and trading between the cultures that leads to barriers between certain groups.

anyhow, this is a bit off topic so ill leave it there....

Used to go over to Leicester in 1992 quite often as mates were squatting over there... (by Highfields) used to go out to mad naughty parties in old derelict & condemned buildings - remember tripping my nuts off one night & coming across Glenn Parva prison for the first time dead randomly - turned the corner & it was there lol :fekked:

plus there was an ace travellers rave in the fields by Coalville... highlight was a police copter swooping over with it's search light while everyone was buzzing lol :fekked: :fekked: :fekked:

We used to go out to Crazy Cage if you know it ? Used to go to the Seikh template on a Sunday for free food too :D Had to don a head cap but it was all good... lovely free veggie curry, chappatis & rice pudding after lol

Hey a free meal was a free meal when you were on the dole - Hindu's have given me more than the Christian church ever has lol :D

Got a few pirate sets from Harmony FM that I'll upload... shouts going out to Highfield & St Matthews etc.. ruffneck bizznizz lol :D

You're dead right re Leicester's multi-cuturalism... it was an eye opener for me to see entire districts that were to all intents & purposes a different country... big speakers on roofs of towers for the call to prayer etc.

I used to love going to Leicester for Devali (festival of light) - amazing sights, sounds. smells, food & atmosphere :D

Went to Nottingham too a few times... went to the Rock & Reggae festie in the park the year The Levellers got banned from playing lol Also Strawberry Fayre... was more of a travellers festie... good times :)

I recon we must have crossed paths, I used to knock around in most of the places u mentioned. Think the BWPT soundsystem was responsible for the free party nr coalville(was there vehicle access, or was the rig carried to the site?), they were pretty rowdy, but hearts of gold:love: some of them playing at our summer party:thumbsup:

The seikh temple was deffo the place for a free feed, they have helped loads of people I know:)

Smile and the world will smile back:D well some of it any how:D
