I take it you don't like it then Dave?;)

When you're phone contract expires get an iPhone. You still have to use iTunes :)jack: ) to put songs, mixes, vids on your phone though :|

they are the kids, i fookin hate the entire architecture of em...
My phone(s) and car stereo are simple, plug in via usb, open the root folder of the phone/ stereo, open my music folder on the lappy, and simply drag and drop. This works faultlessly in XP, Win 2000, Vista, Win 7 and Ubuntu.
Ipod? Fuck no.
Seperate accounts for each one, i know someone who's partitioned the HD to two bootable OS's just so he can run two ipods, then there is that fucking ridiculously overcomplicated itune application just to transfer files to the fucking in the first place....

Apple. over complication for over complications sake. Looks good and that's all it does. Steve jobs= ultimate cunto of the highest order!

Apple have some good products, but at times it is pure Lifestyle over substance.

There are some great mp3/4's out there that are much better value and easier to use in my opinion. .. . . . Oh. . . . but they are just not made by Apple .. . .and that will mean the world will collapse in on itself if your trendy friends see you with a non apple product.;)

That's about the size of it Chrissiter!
I'd much rather they had £40 Sony's or such from Argos, they do the job much better at the fraction of the price....

There was a program on tv recently which pretty much said that the iPhone was a bag of crap and they've had to write a load of fixes and "apps" to get rid of the glitches...

Style over substance? Well said sir...

As someone who works with Macs and PCs I can tell you now that the Mac isn't the faultless piece of perfection most of it's users would have you believe... but that's a debate for another thread...

I'm off to play my C90 Top 40 compilation on my ghetto blaster... :condom:

That's one opinion Adam, but I think an iphone is the mutts nuts and I didn't buy it because it's shiny, I bought it because it does almost everything really well:cool:

Listening to people with the alternatives, they're possibly the most reliable and most usefull too:thumbsup:

itunes being the middleman is the real problem though, as it makes it a ball ache to transfer files from one device to another:mad:

I'm quite surprised Jigs, as after that prog I've asked a few people and they've all got reservations about it... if you're happy though then fair play!

I think you're right about iTunes though, it just tries to be too clever for it's own good.

iPods are the shittest thing ever, used by people who wear trendy scarves and cardigans and sit in Starbucks pretending to be in an episode of friends.

Who the frig wants to fanny about with iTunes just to get some music on it?

Plug it in, drag a folder, unplug it - that's how it should be, no arsing about.

iMac, iPod, iPhone = iBollocks :D

Er, I like Starbucks and have a scarf for really cold days and i've never pretended to be in an episode of friends (although I would like to play Joey :p) :p

If you've never owned one of these phones then you really don't know what you're missing. iTunes is the biggest pain in the arse granted:mad: but it's almost untouchable in all other aspects.

It's a netbook, gps device, stargazer, games machine, weather forecaster, music id-ing device, shit hot photo and video viewer, portable synthsizer, train timetable, news centre, drum machine, portable shopping device, barcode reader, in fact the list is endless. It's fooking amazing what you can do on one of these things and it's funny how most of the haters on another site I read have adopted one of these phones and are now raving at the endless possibilities of things you can do on one;)

If anybody would like to suggest a better device though then go ahead.....anybody????;)

I know for a fact you raved about your Archos multi media player Tim and this pisses all over one of those and I know mate because I own 2 of those also.

Fair play if they really were shit, but I doubt many people could give one back after owning one a week (I was pissed off with mine for the first 3 days:lol: )

So people who dont have them are neds then who shop at costcutter?

Oh well-to be honest, I unabashedly admit that I love the way apple products look. I like the way they work aswell. Because I go to an art college and most powerful design software (adobe shizzle etc) works better on macs because they're built for it...thats all Ive been using for ages...just about to get a macbook pro too (yeah-mate:thumbsup: )

When anything is popular, there is always a backlash to it (people giving it grief n stuff)-but it's popular for a reason.

The only thing I hate about apple (all electronics companies do this-but apple is the worst) Is the way the hold back technology to squeeze every last penny from the consumer (this is why i have never brought a phone or contract). Like with the new 3Gs iphone-I can't remember what they claimed was "new" but I remember it had been on ipods years ago-so they were chatting shit basically. I do however think the iphone rocks! And also-the battery life on apple products is is the worst ever, and they charge u £80 to fix ur head phone jack (when if you look online-it cost you £5 to do it urself)

They're twats-but I love them and their sexy products.

It's the I tunes thats the major bone of contention Arron, without that it seems that you can't transfer files... i managed to get Ubuntu to read it as an external mass memory, found the ipods root folder and transferred mp3s over..... No it didn't work until i booted in to windows and d/l that pile of shite to make it work, which kindly reorganised all my files as total bollocks to the point where it took me 5 hour to find and reorganise everything again DJ absolute i foind in a file called somefucker Nillson, which i know i never created, and Bluejammers stuff in a file called DJ Rhythm i found under Black Sabbath WTF?????

That's how it is!! Also, you can use WINAMP! I use that now instead of iTunes to upload to my iPod. And I like mine, no apologising for it whatsoever! :)

That's fair enough, but my point is that you shouldn't have to use any software to add and remove files.

What happens when you're at a mates house who's got some music or video that you want to put on your iPod / iPhone? You can't just plug it in and copy stuff about like you can with all other mp3/media players and usb storage devices.

I just can't for the life of me imagine what Apple were thinking by making this impossible. It's beyond belief...

For the record, I also have the same gripe with my Sony Ericson phone. Comes with a usb lead, but does it show up as mass storage? Does it fuck lol
Glad I didn't buy it, or it would have gone straight back!
