Was still a fantastic night, regardless of the lack of bass, tunes were lovely - some real old belters played by all. Besides its good to not have tinitus for a change :D
There was definitely a lot of fogeys out, seems hard to believe that they used to know how to put their hands in the air 15 years ago. Self conciousness may take a grip of me too (someday) :condom:
I got seriously messed up :fekked: I realised that I had been introducing my mates to you lot and getting a lot of names mixed up :condom: :$
The manageress was very kind to me. I was coming up big time in the squash for the bar, standing next to her, she noticed and stopped a guy from serving to get me a glass of water

Hello to everyone  I can now put a few more names to faces. I think this was the 3rd time I had to ask Lou Lous name

Massive hi to all that managed to spend the time to come down.
Met so many nice people from this site. Completely gutted about the state of things we were left with .At 5pm this night was off we had to personally build a DJ box clean the club everywhere etc. the sound was CRAP sorry. I personally didnt like it as I was hassled as soon as I started to play anything remotely with a heavy beat (hope you dont find this comment bad but ,Id say my music isnt really for "cricket"girls how many of them went to warehouse parties or the hac or especially the thunderdome) so my rare tunes didnt really get their chance. Still love New Beat though and nothings going to change me.Even if I never play out again I will somehow do a mix of the stuff I love and and let this site have it:thumbsup: Hopefully I wil be able to bash Sankeys
Regards to OSA thanks for a great site always try to be as truthful as I can

PS Sweet sensation your cool:thumbsup:

Steve how many of the people on here went to the hac or the thunderdome or the warehouse parties, I bet there was only me in that whole place the other night that had been to all of the above, and at the last legends event we played some harder stuff and someone on here thought we played to hard you can't win you can't please all the people all the time, and I think the main problem we had was sound and you know that wasn't our fault you seen first hand what we had to put up with in fact like I said to you if you wasn't there stopping us then we would have given everybody thier money back after that last little exchange with the owner, this is why I never really play anymore.

Had a bit of a nightmare getting down for this one, got there well late, and then when I did make it , realised I'd left my ticket at home so thanks to Noggy for getting us in!!

Gotta agree with the sound it was sh1te, espescially upstairs, but hope you don't get put off doing any more. You always get a few peeps coming up to the DJ box to complain whatever you play, but don't let it put you off, there was plenty of other peeps enjoying it!

Superb to see everyone again as always, see you all in the summer when I 'm back on home turf!

Thats fair comment Mike Im just totally gutted ,the amount of work that was put in by Darren yourself and to some part me .The night didnt deserve anything but perfection this it wasnt so im down:cry: .
The one buzz I got however was the stress DJ bond we had while playing and getting ready was like old times really loved working with you and Darren again so thanks:thumbsup:

I think our overall atitude to being pissed off shows that we still want everything to be right and not just put records on and take money and that is not a bad thing at all ... Regards

I think you are being a bit hard on yourselves there - It was Boxing Day, and at a cost of only £5, enabled 50+ members of a forum to meet up and say hello to each other, some having not been out for a while.

The music was top, I'd have loved to have heard more harder stuff and new beat, as I prefer that to the plinky plonky stuff, and I think that could have gone down well alongside what was played, anyone moaning would have to wait a bit longer hehe :p

The sound at the start was good, but I think as it started filling up a lot, it got very muddy sounding, but even still, the amount of nights I've been to back in the day with WORSE sound systems where the promotors couldn't give a flying fuck about it, or the tunes, as long as they got their coin, that's the difference, you guys care

Thanks for a top night, and look forward to more in the future :)

I know this is not my place to speak but why don't ya's ask butty if you can do a Legends thing upstairs at the phoenix. You would fill it up, the sound system is pretty good ( I got sabotaged there but thats a different story LOL ) and it would make it easier for a lot of peeps from Manchester area to get to. Plus there are no idiots there with the new membership.
That way you get to play the tunes you want to peeps who appreciate it in a good environment. I suppose it depends on how much you wanna do it though

Many thanks on behalf of all of us .Especially feedback cheers blue jammer and easty

If someone could somehow get the Thunderdome open on Oldham Road and Get Concert Systems into do the sound with the full JBL system again I would personally pay to get in and pay again to play then I would be happy to RIP:thumbsup:
We spent ages in huddles discussing the sound in that club and really got talked into it. To pull off what we do properly, the most important thing is a massive pin sharp sound system everything else comes second.I think this isnt the end because you cant end on something that isnt perfect, short timescales arent the best things to work too.But "next time" sometime in the future it will happen because I saw true effort that night from everyone:wave:

to be honest i didnt have the great night i was anticipating, but i was more gutted for noggy and the crew that it spoiled what (with another venue) would have been a good night. the music was not my cuppa tea certainly alot of the stuff i heard anyway, but as jammer said when ever theres a load of osaers you can at least guarantee an interesting night.

imo if you want to do a night with all the darker older stuff like was played on monday then do a thunderdome re union nite as it was plainly obvious that the few classic tunes that got played were the ones that got the crowd going. the first legends doo had plenty of classics like chica boom and yo bots, dop. casanova etc mixed in with lots of unknown stuff not to mention oddballs thrown in like the clash and ritchie havens, which imo was much more listenable. at the end of the day are you trying to please a handful of old ex dome heads on here..... or the rest of the paying crowd? which as mike pointed out has probably never been to the dome in their lives before. i appreciate you want to cover a broad spectrum of the tunes that was played over the years, but you have to cater for your audience, and i dont think it was quite what they were looking for.

not havin a go or owt, just sayin it as i see it. The first legends doo was fantastic, as good a night as ive been to all year, and ive had some really really amazing nites out @ hazy and the likes...

aye i realise that steve, i was just giving my impression off the nite based on the crowd and their reactions to tunes as they were played. agreed, the sound system was shite and i dont doubt that it would have improved the nite tenfold :) what i meant was that a hippos/dome etc reunion night would attract the right sort of crowd for that type of music, whereas the people that have been to the last legends reunions seemed, on a whole to be more into their classix type o' stuff :D

Just out of interest Woody what kind of Music do you like? as there was four of us playing right across the board, and I thought Steve's Music was excellent. Ive got to say me and Nog played similar stuff to the first reunion and then you had Bucky mixing it up with some quality balearic tracks, but like I said if you have a good sound system it's a totally different night as you can control the room, please don't think Im having a go, I am really interested in what you like.

I really enjoyed myself :$ :$ :D

Totally see where you're coming from Steve with the sound etc and to be fair it was very bad upstairs, however I loved the tunes that were played and to give me any time away from the inlaws at Chrimbo I'd have happily listened to them with me head stuck in a cement mixer.

I especially thought "Bucky's Balearic bring me up" (lol) was superb   phones: - and have said it b4 that Mike & Noggy are ace DJs, I'd love a night full of all the disco style stuff Mike played at Sankeys but as people have said - you can't please everyone all the time, but its more than that for me ona night out.

I'd never seen/heard you back in the day Steve (I don't think anyway :$ :fekked: - probably did lol!) but you were ace too - and there were a few people upstairs I was talking to who thought the same so  . F**k me - how long is it since you've played out?? Did not sound it one bit m8

It was really really great was seeing all the OSA crew and some ace surprise faces out too  . Couple this with good tunes, good convos and some extra curricular activities then tbh the probs with the sound didn't make a real difference. To me its all that other stuff - thats what a good nights about :D

One last thing on the sound thing - What stands out is how fucking professional you guys were on the night - you catered for the crowd in there and until I read this thread I had no idea there were problems and stuff b4 hand - that says a heck of a lot. As BJ said - there's been much "WORSE sound systems where the promotors couldn't give a flying fuck about it, or the tunes, as long as they got their coin, that's the difference, you guys care" - and thats bob on is that :D
