to be honest i didnt have the great night i was anticipating, but i was more gutted for noggy and the crew that it spoiled what (with another venue) would have been a good night. the music was not my cuppa tea certainly alot of the stuff i heard anyway, but as jammer said when ever theres a load of osaers you can at least guarantee an interesting night.
imo if you want to do a night with all the darker older stuff like was played on monday then do a thunderdome re union nite as it was plainly obvious that the few classic tunes that got played were the ones that got the crowd going. the first legends doo had plenty of classics like chica boom and yo bots, dop. casanova etc mixed in with lots of unknown stuff not to mention oddballs thrown in like the clash and ritchie havens, which imo was much more listenable. at the end of the day are you trying to please a handful of old ex dome heads on here..... or the rest of the paying crowd? which as mike pointed out has probably never been to the dome in their lives before. i appreciate you want to cover a broad spectrum of the tunes that was played over the years, but you have to cater for your audience, and i dont think it was quite what they were looking for.
not havin a go or owt, just sayin it as i see it. The first legends doo was fantastic, as good a night as ive been to all year, and ive had some really really amazing nites out @ hazy and the likes...
