Just out of interest Woody what kind of Music do you like? as there was four of us playing right across the board, and I thought Steve's Music was excellent. Ive got to say me and Nog played similar stuff to the first reunion and then you had Bucky mixing it up with some quality balearic tracks, but like I said if you have a good sound system it's a totally different night as you can control the room, please don't think Im having a go, I am really interested in what you like.

primarily i like piano stuff, italo, chicago, vocal stuff if i'm honest but i'd like to think i'm fairly diverse in my tastes. i love the majority of the old house stuff played at hazy, even though it was well before my time.

i didnt get to viper lounge till gone 10 due to one reason or another and spent most of the night upstairs as it was so busy downstairs. and it was hard to tell what was what at some points. so i missed bucky and some of the earlier sets. some of the stuff i heard i really enjoyed, tramp say no dope, esther b and q words are the only ones that i can remember name wise off of the top of my head :fekked: ;) as its only been this year when ive started buying vinyl and actually needing to know what the name of stuff was. at the first reunion there were plenty of more well known tracks dropped amongst the unknown "dubby" type stuff, and they were all greeted with mass cheers.stuff like electric choc- shock the beat , brother make 3-i wanna, Eric B & Rakim - I know you got soul, Olympia - you want my love, sbam chica boom, highgivers love n money, ritchie havens etc

i only remembered one occasion where it happened last week (and i cant remember the tune lol pakito lindo or some other old italo i think) and i thought it was a bit too progressive for too long periods. similarly to the 2nd one, loved all the italo earlier on, irene ortiz my house, cutting with delia, sanctuary of love acca into love is the message ( that was amazing, as good a mix with a pella/piano that ive ever heard:thumbsup: ) but got a bit too dubby for too long nearer the end of the night, imo. whereas the first one you didnt know what to expect next, was it italo, house or even rock music, and that was half the fun

maybe as i said i might have missed some of the more well known tunes, but as a whole it was a little dubby and proggy for my tastes. another reason why i didnt overly enjoy myself could have been down to a few knobheads that were in there  and the lack off staff behind the bar making it a big ball ache to actually go to the bar.

i wasnt having a go or owt:thumbsup:

WELL, i bloody loved it, had the 2nd best night ever, the bar was well trendy the music was well good and jus different to any other club, although I do prefer more pianoy vocal stuff, but i like to vairy my choice in music

I think noggy played the best tunes they were more uplifting for me

So what if the sound system was crap, thats something to laugh about!!

I loved every minute of it guys (apart from waiting 40 mins 4 drink) and I look forward to another event where ever it is!!!

Whens the dvd coming out from the 17th Sept? I want one of them buggers me.

Well i wasnt gonna review this one as i feel i am ill qualified to do so as the music was a bit alien to me. I didnt make it to the previous events either so i have nothing to compare it too. Although i have been to the view for a diferent night some years ago and had a great night in a top little venue even if it was Paul Taylor playing lol

I didnt have a great night on Monday though due to a few reasons but mainly the fact it was that full in there that it was taking forever to get served so was finding it dificult to get pissed lol. Then laters at the bottle bar it was taking the piss. There were nobs banging in to me and others around trying to start a fight and even nearly started with each other. Total madness and all over getting a bloody drink.

The sound was appauling especially upstairs and them little grey speakers above the bar would be best left turned off for the good that they did lol.

I dont want to be totally negative though, i can see that in a better venue with better sound that could have been a mint night out, was just a little dissapointing for my first one.

Tune wise i am very much into the sort woody has described although i was warned beforehand that some of the stuff i wouldnt know/like but you cant expect to like/ know everything you here and i was looking forward to broadening my horizions tune wise.

Hopefully the next one if you guys go ahead and do one will be miles better and in a better venue at least.

Good luck in 2006 guys

Andy

Ps Good to meet bucky finally, wll have to get myself to sankeys at some point.

I thought the tunes were ace but did not suit the vibe of the venue. Dont get me wrong ace venue but not for vibe you were trying to recreate.

We left early cos a few werent feeling it. I had a pretty good night. It werent a patch on the other 2. The 1st re-union had it all bob on, music/vibe/pretty decent space for venue the lot.

All you need is a good space to do your stuff guys n you will be laffing

I for one will attend any future ones you do:)

Respect, onwards n upwards guys:thumbsup:

Tunes were bob on for me, I've grown to love piano, but at the time I used to dislike them. So it was fantastic to have a night without too many of them. If Steve had got to play more of his New Beat stuff through a better system. I would have been a jibbering wreck :fekked: :D

well as i said it was 3wks in the making a rush job to put a party on everything on face value said it was going to be much talked about event afterwards for the right reasons, then when it came down to it the management turncoated us [i dont know why] only let us in the building at 4:30 to set up we then had to clean the place from the night before including toilets wouldnt let us have big sound and didnt have any bar staff at hand at all and was ringing around for people which inturn we could only open at 8:30 instead of 7 it was a complete fuck up by people who dont know the 1st thing about running a bar[un be known] to us before hand.

im 100% certain if there was big proper sound in there no one would have questioned the music and the atmosphere would have been at maximum for me it was all sound related

I ALSO BELIEVE THAT IF PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN THIS EVENT TO CONTINUE WE MAYBE HAVE TO START A THREAD IN THE NEW YEAR WHERE PEOPLE PUT THERE IDEAS FORWARD FOR A VENUE SUITABLE AND ACCESSABLE FOR EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED AS WE HAD THE FEELING FRODSHAM MIGHT HAVE BEEN A BIT OF A BALL ACHE FOR PEOPLE!

Lol - unless you lived in Helsby at the time ;) :$

The good thing about it being in the middle of nowhere tho is that people who make an effort are there specifically for the legends night and personally I reckon that helps the atmos no end, plus the view is a good venue (with some well nice sofarage for sprawling out on  )

Will have a think on future places....now I'm 200 miles further away I don't suppose there's any chance of making it Banbury is there? :$ :p :D
