Absolutely superb club, It's prob about 15years I've been clubbing for now and there's been loads of different clubs along the way, but Legends will always be my favourite.
Can still remember the first time we went, got there to find the car park already full and loads of peeps milling round dancing away already to the car stereo's. There was a fair old queue to get in already, and me mate had already dropped to by the time we got to the steps to go in he was completely white and fekked, as we went staggering up the stairs the bouncer got on to him and was saying "Are you off your head lad?", he was panicking and shaking his head , the bouncer just laughed and said "Well what the fcuk are you doing here then?".
Got in there and it was already going off properly, the atmosphere was absolutely electric, everyone in there with a huge grin and eyes to match. Was walking down the side of the club towards the back bit and Espirel Dunne was dropped and the roof just came off, I can still vividly remember looking round the club and everyone going mad and thinking "fekkin hell this place is incredible" And from that point on we rarely missed a week from 92 though to 94, made so many friends in there 'cos there was a proper 'family' feel about it with the same heads going every week. A lot of them are still friends today.
The music policy was absolutely brilliant - so many tunes I've not heard played anywhere else, the build up through the likes of Eric B and Rakim - I know you got soul, Whyte - Purple Haze, Massive attack, Sydney Fresh etc. and then just building and building up into a frenzy throughout the night with your big anthems and some nice hard stomping tunes too, then as Noggy said easing into the nice vocally house towards the end, superb, I still don't know what half of the "Legends tunes" are callled.
Used to stand on the stage in the middle with Woody and Noggy blasting out the tunes, Al on the lights and holding down the corner of the turntable to try and stop the constant feedback hum you always used to get in there, and about three people sat on top of each speaker to the sides of the DJ booth.
Anyone who loves there tunes should well get down to the re-union on the 17th
