as Ste Said would it be the actual old bowers djs ( or just a cheap cash in night that has none of the actual djs or things that the night had back then as ive seen and still do every now and again wen ppl try it :) )

i would love to go to an event like this , BUT only if it was a proper reunion ( as gt did in 2002 ) with the actual djs playin , the old ppl that used to go , plus the little things like gyroscopes etc :) :) . . . . :) and not like many promoters ave tried by labeling it as a reunion just to get ppl there :) :)

yeah would be top , but yall find many of the big guys back then dont do it any more :( . . . both kenny and John W and also Bowa all packed it in long time ago now unfortuantly . . . . . tried many a times to get them to play out over the years with no joy tho . . . . and what is a reunion if the djs that made the night arent there ??? :) ive thougt about doin a 2nd one myself after the success of the 1st , but imo i dont think it could be done to the same level so ive passed on the chances to do one , as the one we did even in the words of the djs that played there and at life " the bowlers era was done proud by this event " ;) ;)

I agree ben. It would have to be a proper reunion. And as you have said getting on board bowa,j wad and kenny would be a task in its self. As for welly and virtigo we may have some luck there. Dont really want to add djs from after 94 as the music policy went a bit ruppert the bear pants.Stu allen would be a ok bet. If not a reunion ben. How about a revival. A monthly event at bowlers? A revival of the warehouse days and the era of life. This i think we may be able to pull off. Grab together some pa's from the times. Dream freq,49ers,k klass, etc. What you think ppl???

If we could pull off a monthly event @bowlers just keep the main room as back then. As you have said the gyroball velcro fly wall and glo stick stand to the rear of the venue. A few tables n stools around to chill on( who needed a f**k off chill out room any way) a littal barrier section.Splitting the dance from the chill zone. A central platform down the centre of the arena then 1 at either side. Dj on stage and were cooking.

Whats given me the idea to get these nights up and running. Are sick of all the small clubs fair doos theres a vibe there but nothing like we used to get at our bowlers warehouse. This was a vibe. Also been watching wellys dvd the blackburn warehouse parties 89-91. And those parties reminded me just of bowlers. What a vibe and we need to get that vibe back.Who agrees and who wants to be part of getting a night up and running each month in our own warehouse enviroment? The search for the vibe is near....

Stee love, When I first started to going to Bowlers way back they never ever sold achol and things were tip top.... then when they started selling things went Pete and it was never quite the same :(

Az - are you saying that you would try and get the "Actual Bowlers" building back? because wasnt it the Daily Telegraph (I think) who eventually put pay to the end of the Bowlers scene?

As for PA's I think the best one I ever saw there was Ultrasonic!!

S-J, yeah when Bowlers first kicked off it WAS no alcohol, but that was then. It's just I honestly can't see them opening up Bowlers for a night ever again, for three reasons:
1) Yep, the buildings nearby who kicked off about it.
2) Police - they were gunning for that place for years, and when that guy died at a Helter Skelter night, it was just the excuse the dibble needed to shut it down.
3) No alcohol - Lol.

I don't want to piss on anyones chips, as I would LOVE to go back there, but I just can't see Bowlers holding another event. :(

Your joking i was unaware of this. Hmmmmm back to the drawing board on this one then. As bowlers the venue mat be of limits will make some enquires myself. If not has anyone any other ideas on where to hold a monthly night as a wharehouse party vibe. As life at bowlers certainly had that party vibe.

Club Underground at UMIST used to be alright.

Or the Academy.

Or the Music Box.

Thanks ste. But what iam trying to cteate is a warehouse party vibe not a small club vibe. Those venues are fine just a tad too small.

We need to think bigger stee.

Think of what it would be like to create those warehouse party days again. I think we can pull this off if we can find a venue.

Ah roight! :D

You're probably best trying to sort something out with a sports complex, a bit like Longton Leisure Bowl held Club Kinetic in Stoke.

Hang on, the Commonwealth Games village...

....weren't a happy hardcore promoter trying to get that?

I vaguely remember hearing this somewhere, maybe look into that....if it's still there that is...:$ ;)
