i do agree with kells on that one that doin one in manc would deffo not work and would more than likly be ruined by the small maority that come out just to ruin other ppls nights . . .

one venue tho is phillips park hall , which has the multi room and outside bits , illusion are doin a night there on the 21st may ( im playin happy hardcore that night !! ha ha ) . . and they have labeled there old skool room a bowlers reunion night . . lol wen 75% of the djs on there never even played at Bowlers . lol im hopin this night doesnt get ruined by the manc trouble makers as most of em are . . .

lol thats coz you 2 are both from accross the hills. trouble makers are everywhere, not just manchester. the thing with manchester, oldskool and fighting is down to one thing and only one thing. Who ever is running the doors. thats it plain and simple.
pour example Maximes is full of salford / wythenshawe and the rest of the scally brigade from round manchester, but the trouble is kept to a minimum coz the bouncers are hard as fuck and dont take no shit from anyone. With a decent door team, any half decent oldskool nite in manchester would be a success:thumbsup:

When i used to go to life @ Bowlers it only had the main room and a chill out room anyway so whats the prob...It just went down hill and ended up s**t when they put all the other rooms in, and the cornmill was no way anything like bowlers, decent venue but for a life reunion it really does need to be in manc for sure dont you all think???
In an ideal world it needs to be in the original venue, i know its prob not possible but to me thats a genuine reunion, thats what we do with joy-use the original venues to what ark did....

it went shit wen all the other rooms were added . . ??? lol are u for real . . the amount of ppl that went weekly doubled , wen it went to three rooms plus a chill out room . . . .

and i never said cornmill was like bowlers , i said that our night had the qualitys bowlers nights did . . ;) ;) big difference ;) . . i did try to get bowlers but was never gonna happen , so another venue had to be found . . ad the cornmill was deffo the best venue around at the time ( not only fo the amount of rooms it had but for location as like bowlers was now were near housing estates etc and only a couple of mins off the motorway for easy access ) :)

Yes kelly bowlers at first was just one main room with a chill out at the back of the arena .Where the gyro ball and velcro fly wall oh and the glo stick stand.a few stools and tables it was sorted...I know bowlers is now out of the question. But surley if a warehouse or venue could be found .Hows about we all pull together and try and get something off the ground..or something similar..Lets not give in ppl.

Im never one for givin in mate , hence soon as life shut after me spendin week in week out there . . and there was no other nights that played the same sort and range of old skool about i swore i would one day start my own if i couldnt find one . . . one year later in 1999 I started Goodtimes and were still runnin to this day :) . . . . . . so i never give in ;) a night of such u talk about on a bowlers scale anyway i dont think will ever happen . . . as said the old skool massive aint what it was in the 90's its been replaced now by other genres in the rave scene which are more supported , one being hardcore , events wich pull in on a monthly basis owt from 2000 - 10,000 , which 100% old skool events would pull easy back then , but its much harder nowadays if not near ipossible . . . . .

Yes i have erd of the missin in manchester crew ( i was gonna play at one of there events ( and Goodtimes was gonna host a room at a planned event till the venue didnt get secrued ) they now do PROPER illegal raves in manc warehouses , couple of mates went to the last one and it was supposed to be awesome ( 3000pl ) but that event yet again was hardcore . . and not a bit of house in sight , im gonna be goinn the the next one they do deffo tho just to see :)

Cheers marc for the above comments :) :) tis good to know ive been the only person to actuallly pull a proper bowlers reunion off , not like half the nights that try to cash in on it hopin to pull the old ppl out of the woodwork ( avin the djs at the end of the night that played even say id done the bowlers era proud , was summat that made it even more spec for me :)think the reveiews of the night will still be on this board if you check the early pages from 2002:) )

But personally i dont think it could be done again , cos there aint the right venues about imo and times have changed and so has the clubin vibe in the last 3 or 4 years . . , its not that i dont have the spirit fella , cos anyone that knows me will know i deffo HAVE the spirit for the Oldskool . . :) and would love to see it rise once again to those levels , but in reality its not goin to happen . . . :) :)

yer my mum went to life reunion and she said it was tops, i told her about it when it got put up on here, she went bowlers quite alot like.

have u got any photos from that night ben? which u could maybe post up on here?

and as for a life reunion, wherever it takes place if something does happen i deffo go! :D

Nah i think it killed it...and most of the original crew stopped going...thats just my opinion....what was the point to 3 rooms when all i wanted to hear was the true bowlers sound....all it did was bring in new faces who were into hardcore/other styles...life sold out mate to try keep busy...simple as that im afraid...and soon after it was hardcore in the main room instead of the usual.I remember going to the last new year event they did, and at 12 o clock they switched the house (life) music from the main room and put it into the small room and put asylum in the main room.....talk about anti climax!!!!!!!!!
It was amazing at bowlers in the early years but i really do think (my opinion) it just got worse and worse when they changed things from the norm...
