Out of interest has anyone off here ever had a tune lost in the post?
It's just happened to me (as sender) - 1st time ever but what a f00kin nightmare it is trying to sort it out!

After this I really don't know how people can ship from shops/pm's or ebay & not send recorded/special as it would be IMPOSSIBLE to get owt back... I for one will never buy again if not posted out recorded/special delivery.

Appologies again to the buyer (you know who you are)
makes me look like a right splein. :(

quote from my message to buyer RE: Royal Mail - shows depth of feeling
I've phoned 'em just now but they were as good as an amputee in an armwrestling competition!

lost about 4 in the hundreds I've sent out but three have been in the last month or so and are usually in another country. I refund the person and ask them not to bid on anything else of mine

yeah ive had stuff go missing in the post

it does happen from time to time

maybe somebody at the PO sorting office is looking out for vinyl mailers and keeping them eh?

its frustrating as a seller cos you left feeling as if you have done something wrong

ive made a couple of claims for lost packages

the last one was for £50 worth of vinyl which i got a cheque off royal mail as a compensation and a letter saying that they were compencating me this time but if i had anything else go missing that i wouldnt be able to claim again

which i thought was a bit off

i always send stuff via recorded delivery. Not only can you track it but it includes insurance (up to a point).

Which brings me on to the most gutting experince (for me and the buyer) whne a n item arrives and is broken...

I sold an item that I did not really want to sell (because I love it ) to an OSA member who really wanted the tune so...

ANd when he got it the postal service had bent the package an broken it...

He had looked for this track for over a decade - I know how scarce it was back in the day..AND although I am putting a claim in with the post office you can not insure "irreplacable".

I do not know who cried the most me or "hairy"....

not bad luck so far

so far not one records gone missing i've posted. touch wood.
(of over 1000)
the only time someone "had one go missing" was when I sent it recorded. I had not told them it was recorded because they hadn't paid extra (but it was a expensive tune) and the little c*nt claimed he'd not received it.

NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!!!!

THE PROBLEMS I'VE HAD IS BROKEN RECORDS.
(DON'T GET ME STARTED...... RAY LOVE (TECHNOKUT COPY) AAHHH!!!!)

I WAS DISCUSSING POSTING ITEMS AT WORK THIS WEEK AS ONE OF THE GIRLS WON A NINTENDO GAMECUBE ON EBAY AND THE SELLER POSTED IT NORMAL POST(NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED) IN THE ORIGINAL NINTENDO PACKAGING......HOW THE HELL DID THAT GET TO LEVENSHULME??????????
I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD TAPE UP THE OPEN OF THE RECORD SLEEVE AND SLAP AN ADDRESS ON THE VINYLS COVER....YOU'D SAVE A FORTUNE ON THE MAILER & POSTAL COSTS

I'm interested to discover how your broken item claim goes. I've just got a couple of broken records and I'm not sure what I can do about it

well the forms are a testament to bad english - and the date fields are even prefixed 19_ _.

They are really awful and I ahve nto yet had a response...

If they pay well I am going to ship all my old crap promos to a mate and commit gross mail fraud

Broken Vinyl

The reason so many tunes arrive broken is that they end up being the first item sorted into a bag. Currently under health and safety regulations state that the max weight of a bag is 11kg. Imagine your flimsy vinyl taking the strain of 11kg. Now I know my workplace is currently employing a load of muppets but common sense would tell me that if a record has fragile on it it should be placed as near to the top of the mailbag as possible. Or if im personally mailing out I place each tune in a seperate sealed mailbag and send it on its merry way to reduce the risk of damage. Not all at the PO are twats.:| and I dont fancy being fucked in the ear neither, but thanks for the offer!;)

The PO

Let s get 1 thing straight about te PO, A recorded delivery is not traceable only Registered post is, Sending it second class and it will still arrive the same time as first class............

Recorded deliverys are signed for at the PO you take them to, Thats the last place you can trace them..........

Very few a traceable from Delivery offices, for Example if you send a record to someone from your home town by post, that record will go by a driver to a Mail Centre (not delivery office)
This could be anything from 10 to 30 miles away. From the driver who picks it up it is then shoved on to a conveyer belt and sorted to its destination..IE where it phuckin came from...................

From the conveyer belt it goes into a large should we call it, a bin. upto now at least 5 people have handled it...
It then gets shoved into a destination bin and tied up in a bag, and shipped to a loading bay.. Collected by a driver who throws it in a van, and takes it to The place it came from.. I.e your home town.

Its then taken to a delivery office, where again it is handled by at least 5-10 people before it arrives on the postmans frame.....
He then has a choice ,declare he's got a recorded which has to be signed for, in which he is not obliged to declare it..
Until after it has been delivered.
Or quitely forget he has it knock on your door ,hand it over or as im sure some people will have experienced this, leave the record hidden to the public, I.E BEHIND A PLANTPOT........

B'llocks ,be warned Recorded deliveries are rarely traceable, and at least 20 people have handled the record before it arrives........
Plus,Think how many records are sent out a day,,,,Thousands

BE WARNED.....................................

Finally , Records do not get put on the top of postmans bags as they do not fit, a 12" Vinyl sleeve only fits down the side of bag,,
And whatever postman tells you different is BLAGGING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Old Royal Mail

swift update...
Received compensation for loss today with a nice appology letter, so all in all 1 loss in the hundreds I've sent out - with a more than satisfactory resolution can't be bad.
I'm sure that when they lose there monopoly it's going to be MUCH harder to claim from the charlatan companies that emerge.

Happy Chappy :D
