You on about Pans Labyrinth?

I thought it was ok, but for me, the drama / fantasy fairytale land thing didn't go together. Should have stuck to being one or the other. 5/10 from me.

I am probs wrong here, but i think that the fantasy was because of the other shiz- an escapism of sorts and all in her head- like an imaginary freind gone tits.

Yeah, but had it been a drama about the civil war or whatever it was - can't remember with a little bit of the fantasy thing it would have been ace. Just like if it had been a total fantasy film with a little bit of drama, it would also have been ace.

I just didn't care much for it trying to be both!

It was deffo one that you had to 'watch', both Jonno and I had to remind each other a few times of what ws going on! Mind you, we had to keep having breaks to do other stuff.

The little girl was a great actress:king:

hey Mr piano, we'd never get anywhere if we always did things the same wouldn't we???

i love this film...really dark, and thats how i like it. the acting is superb. the only gripe is that there were more things going on in the tree...i just liked the fantacy aspect alot...aswell as the stuff that was going on outside it too.

watched it last nite:cool: good film imo, kinda agree with Tims post about it not making its mind up what it wanted to be, but I enjoyed it none the less. I presume the telly version was edited as i cant remember the torture scene:confused: i thought the way he smashed the blokes face in with a bottle was pretty brutal at the start, especially the way it showed the face caving in... sicko mofo!

I came to that conclusion too, a totally horrible set of circumstances to live through, so the little girl escaped in a fantasy realm.
The little girl character was totally charming

The Captain also made the film for me, an absolute grade a cnut, but not ( i thought ) a bully, the firefight scenes depicting his leadership qualities totally blew me away, a harsh man capable of equally harsh decisions...
To me, the war had eroded his humanity

And on to his foil- The housekeeper! Fook me! Her part was just incredible!

This scores an easy9 out of ten and a loud trump from me, peeps!
A MUST WATCH again, i think..

Chez here..

LOVE this film...saw it about 6 months ago now, wanted to watch it again last night but didn't have control of the TV remote.

Kinda like the sub-theme (which I read about in a review) that if you had eternal life...like the gobliny dude...you'd have nothing to live for, so much time on your hands that you wuoldn't bother doing anything with it...

Yeah I agree    I'd say a 10 for me though. I despised the Captain but he played a fantastic character and was amazed by the housekeeper Mercedes. Some parts were really brutal and upsetting and the fantasy bits were just stunning. Great film I love it!!
