I'd previously tried to convert videos via a DVD-R, the quality was ace, but then trying to encode from DVD-R (Video format) to divx was a pain in the arse, so being able to do it all on the fly, should in theory be good, the problems I've had in the past when I used a Belkin capture device were limited capture size, and it dropped loads of frames, so when capturing, it's best to take out your network cable (not be online basically) and also disable all firewall/antivirus software, and ANYTHING else in the task/system tray that doesn't need to be running, as the more system resources available, the better (even if you have a top spec PC)
