Here is....

Neil Fraser
''I worked for three years as a programmer for the Ingenia group of Software Kinetics in Ottawa, Canada. Then six years ago I moved to Scotland where I founded Digital Routes (now merged with Data Converters).

Over the years I've created a mélange of open-source software. I've also built some rather unusual hardware. On rare occasions I've even been known to write something interesting.'' (i very much doubt it Neil :D unless it was a book of stupid beards)

This guy apparently went to an adult class for acting lessons then went for a casting and got the job, here's what he wrote to thank the woman that lectured the class.

Barbara'
On Saturday, May 29th, I took your afternoon workshop. On Thursday, June 3, I auditioned at a casting for a numerology commercial and got the job.
On Saturday, June 5, I taped it and the client like me so much he asked me
to tape two other characters. Need I say more?
Thank you very much."

This is Sir Gunther!

The Seventh Annual Baile na Scolairi Armored Easter Egg Hunt (and Midlands Regional Fighter Practice) was held Saturday, April 10th, at the Salvation Army Community Center in Bloomington. As in years past, fighters from across the Midlands showed up to hunt for Easter eggs, get in some good practice, and generally have a good time.

The Rules for the Hunt are simple: Eggs were hidden throughout the gym and hallway. The fighters were then allowed in and given some time to find as many eggs as possible. Once all the eggs are found, the challenge fights begin. To the victor of the fight goes one of the loser's eggs. The only restriction is that you could not take a person's last egg.

As in years past there were both a heavy armor and rapier division ("No crossing of the streams!!!" says The Most Honorable Chen-tzu.), with winners announced in each division. One set of winners was the fighter & fencers with the eggs. The other set of winners were the holders of The Lucky Egg (i.e. with a special token in it).

Let me proudly present Doran and Chris who have built a beetle robot. I shit you not.

Let Chris explain in his own words.

Building our first robot (a Beetle Robot, a species of simple BEAM Robot) was a blast. We named it "UglyBot." It essentially consists of two 1.5 volt motors, 2 Sub-mini lever SPDT switches, and 2 AAA batteries. We've now built a second one. The second was a big improvement...we added an on-off switch, and used a CD as a chassis (very strong & light!).

Perhaps most interesting was the insight it provided into just how simple a robot can be while still manifesting interesting behaviour. The Beetle Robot doesn't have a chip in it, or even a transistor. Just simple switches and motors. Yet it scurries around the kitchen floor, and finds its way around obstacles. It's life-like enough to attract the cats' attention (and quiet enough not to frighten them).

Here are some photos of our first BEAM robot. The pix are grungy because they were taken with a Polaroid JoyCam and then scanned

Chris I'm sure it' wasn't a "blast"

here's polaroid chris and doran and beetle robot.
