Forgot and thought i was in my 'main everyday' car, a citreon and filled the beetle with diesel.

Its now stuck at the garage and i dont know what to do.

Call the AA Lesley they can sort it for ya . Not gonna make any jokes about women owning cars as i dont even have one yet:p

I might be wrong about this but i think they drain it off by removing the fuel filler pipe but its a long time since i can remember it happening to my mate.

I am told that you might be have a tank sender unit that ya maybe able to undo and drain. Or the last straw is to syphon the tank but this could be a big job depending on how much you filled the tank with.

yes, it spluttered like mad, only put a few quid in like, and the tank was nearly empty.

not sure if aa covers you for stupidity:$

I`m led to believe that diesel is`nt that good to syphen because it`s thicker than petrol,if you`ve only put a bit in you could try to dilute it with petrol but do this at your own risk.

The AA definitely covers you for stupidity - I've called them out on a number of occassions for it.

Spluttering ain't good though - it means it's got into your engine.

Either way you'll have to drain it - properly an all by unscrewing stuff at a guess.

It's wank when stuff like this happens when it's totally your own fault isn't it.

Your car's as safe on a garage forecourt as it is outside your house - more so in fact cause they've got camera's.

just phoned my old dad and his response was, in a very weary and fecked off voice:

'Lesley why does it never end! When you going to wake up and do things properly. Give yourself a good shake. Phone the AA i am far too busy'

Cheers pops!

You have a good point mate but i am also led to believe that diesel is not that harmful to a petrol car. But it depends on the amount. If you have only put a bit in you could try dilute it but its at owners risk:axe:
