Hey Music Lovers

In my last posted i asked whether anyone here remembers Genesis & Biology 311289. I thought what the hell lets see how far you guys go back (not a test).

Genesis teamed up with Sunrise on 31st December 1988 and produced the biggest party of its kind in the world. The following year Genesis did it again by teaming with Biology.

Though i just wanted to see if anyone here attended any of those events.

Hey Jaxx

I came onto the scene in 1987 when i attended Future @ Heaven's then got involved in staging parties under the banner of Genesis 1988-90. We used to break into large warehouses and then transform the ugly buildings into state of the art arena's. We'd invite 20,000 people and upto fifteen have turned up.

My book is based on my experiences arranging these events and was originally published by Virgin in 1998. I'm currently building an interactive multimedia CD with a fully revised edition of the book which is also interactive. That should be ready in next two months. That's taken up the last twelve months of my life and i'm truly relieved it's almost over.

I wrote the book in the ifrst place because i felt it was important for people to read the words of someone that was not only there but influenced its mutation. Don't worry i'll let you guys know of it progress or failing that anyone can join my mailing list by mailing subscribe@wayne-anthony.com

I love sites like this because it helps maintain a vibe that has been since lost. We can recapture that vibe because at the end of the day its people that created such vibes in the first place. Music is most certainly one route harmonisation and that's a step in the right direction.

Yes To Music... :cops:

top one fella's

Cheers Mate!

It's a pleasure to be in such good company. I love the way the internet has revolutionised the methods for global coomunication. It really makes sense to move with the times and utilise such formats. Everyone keeps asking me why i don't arrange large scale events or any events any more.

My central concentration base is the internet and possible ways of creating a global database of people that share a number of common interests. I'm really waiting for third generation technology and beyond to create something really special, fresh and vibrant.

In order to achieve this, one must have a central base, that for me right now is wayne-anthony.com I'm trying to collate as much old skool paraphernalia as possible for the CD and website. So if any of you guys have any photos (1988-90) etc i'd be glad to include them.

Nice One Fella

Still catch up with the boys every now and then. Except the dirty warehouses have been replaced by various hotspots around the world.

Tin-Tin (Energy 1988) - I last saw TIn Tin mixing records as a DJ in a club in Malta.

Jeremy Taylor (Energy 1988) - Not sure if you know but Jeremy's family own the house used in the program 'To The Manor Born' So he's earning chunks of money in various money markets. Last saw him in Canne's (south france)

Tony C (Sunrise 1988) - I met up with my dear friend Tony in Ibiza on a mad mission of self destruction. We then flew to Marbella where he started work on a virtual reality sex machine in the form of a head set.

Anton (Energy'88 / World Dance 1989) - Me ole mate Anton is working in various media production fields.

I love them all dearly as together without blowing trumpets we represent the core of the acid house movement. For this i'm very very proud.

As for vids, tapes etc. Sadly i have only one vid and no tapes. Though my new CD with revised edition of my book Class of 88 contains hundreds of flyers, photos, audio, video etc.

Listen i got to go watch italy v Mexico. Thanks again for the kind words and i'll return after football.

C4 Documentry

Hey shoomster!

That's right the program has been repeated three times already so far. It's called 'Pump up the Volume' a three part series on origins of house. I've actually been in six different documentries over the past year. Covering topic's from Ibiza to World Cup'90.

Anyone thats read my book will already know that i also got kidnapped three times. Guns in face, bound and gagged. It wasn't very nice mate, but then the parties were worth it. Sounds insane really but we actually put our lives on the line in the name of rave. Things started to get heavy when we began earning more than a hundred grand. Attracted the attention of the top villians in London. Though before you get to speak to the big boys your confronted by various groups of smaller boys.

Anyway none of them were involved in the scene or even indulged in MDMA so wasn't effected by the loved up vibes of thousands of people. They could only see the large sums of money passing through the door. Bloody Muppets!

Anyway! The sunrise sets sound good as i have no mixed sets from that period. I got lots of paraphernalia though, did my best to keep everything but lost loads anyway.

Hold Tight Taff...

Scarey shit man !!!

Think I remember your face on it now

Just a question, what was your opinion on the " PUMP UP THE VOLUME " 3 parter, a lot of people on the board ( My self included ) where very impressed with the first two parts, but feel they skipped over a lot of history in the last episope and completley missed out the whole rave seen of 92, and just went staight into the days of Goldie, D & B and Jungle. I like many others feel they should have made it a 4 parter, instead of trying to cram 10 years into one Episode

Just thought it would be good to hear your opinion on this m8

pump up volume (for a bit)

Good Shout M Jaxx!

Well firstly let me say that I'm totally in agreement with the board on the fact that the first two programs were absolute quality. But like we found program three wanting in many area's, I'm sure our American counterparts could also pick holes in it.

That said i actually met with the directors and producers of the program who all shared the same common goal and that was to present a definitive picture of how the whole scene began. Now then, the program was comminssioned by Channel 4, to an independant production company.

The company Flame TV did it's best to present the history but given the fact they only had 145mins to compile this story, it was always going to be an up hill struggle. As the production company your governed by what the commissining network regards at watchable or documentive TV.

The director had his specification and that was to follow the story of House music and not neccessarily focus on the scenes created as a byproduct of the sound. The fact is for some reason Channel 4 doesn't appear interested in compiling a program on Acid House & Rave Cultural in the UK. I know because i've personally submitted a documentry outline for a series of programs that was turned down. The story on media hill was a program was already commissioned by C4 that covers Acid House.
So now that Acid House has been mentioned in the series, no network is interested in commissioning anything else on the topic.

Anyway! If you noticed the first two programs were centralised around the creation of the sound and thats why it was so good. The third program tried to cram way too much into 50mins and everything just seemed to fly by very quickly. My original interview lasted maybe one and half hours yet all they screened was two sentences. Yet whilst we were on location (original venue of some of my parties) an orthadox jewish man approached us and asked what was going on. Once i explained our reason for being there, he asked the dates of the events and would you believe he owned the building at that time.

So we had a big conversation about what happended on that night and he said he came to confront us but we had lawyers and then he searched for us for two years. He was very pleasent about the whole thing and of course i apologised. I thought it made excellent viewing and i'm trying to get it for my CD.

We still need an idepth documentry on Acid House though i wont hold my breath...
