nah the shaun ryder one was when some people accused him of being a bad role model, he said hes no role model, he didnt give a fukk what other peoples kids got upto and that parents should be their own kids role model, just cause he took drugs doesnt mean that people could blame him if their kids took drugs. I suppose its the same with girls aloud, so what if they are advertising some product, your responsible for your kids, not girls aloud
i doubt shaun ryder had 8 year old followers david like girls aloud do , yes i am responsible for my daughter but i cant stop her looking up to these girls can i ? and these girls imo are promoting a un natural body image .

At the end of the day, the parent/s brings the kids up. My mam n dad used to say that I had to do as they say, not what anyone else told me for as long as i lived under their roof and untill i could pay my own way. Now maybe they were forceful but its done me no harm.
Now if a parent lets their kids get proper skinny cause they wanna be like girls aloud then its the parents fault for allowing it to happen, well thats my opinion anyway
i shouldnt think that kids go round shouting about eating disorders david and by time a / the parents clocked on to the fact there was a problem the eating disorder would be in place . because thats what can happen , im not saying girls aloud are the cause of this but promoting that image there promoting at the moment for a tv ad certainly doesnt help , but that will be the parents fault for letting them watch tv eh .
my parents had the same attitude that yours did and im pretty much the same , as much as she spits her dummy say over a item of clothing i have the attitude wen you can pay for it you can have it , i can control what she wears and quite rightly so the way she behaves round others is a reflection on me . but unfortunatly the way she thinks i can do feck all about

"role models" Come in all shapes and sizes and always will as people come in all shapes and sizes. Shaun Ryder had a point if an over simplified one. We need to give our kids self respect, but they will be influenced.
In the particular case of Girls Aloud, the real problem is they are vacuous, vacant, plastic and manipulated at the hands of a record company to make money. That is why they are poor role models, they have nothing positive to say to kids. However, they are not underweight and look good . . .after a fashion. There are women who carry more weight who look good also like J-lo, Beyonce and Fern of This Morning LOL.

People in the public eye have always been skinny. Role models in particular. I can think of loads of examples going back to the 50s. Im afraid I have to maintain that there are a lot worse things going on in the world of advertising and fashion in comparison to girls aloud. Here are just a few.......

Yes thats my point too, that they are manufactured and churned out to be sexy pop stars that are getting admired by very young children who in turn are getting eating disorders, wearing clothes that are far beyond thier own ages and growing up with some appearance complex and not truely being able to love themselves from the inside. I was just making the point that when I was 11/12, everyone loved the spice girls.....i used to think they were really good! I really loved Emma Bunton and always wanted to look like her. But seeing as my parents dictated where I went, what I wore, what I listened to, it didn't cause me any harm. When you grow up you realise for yourself what is beautiful. When you have kids wanting to be like kate moss, there really is a problem, not silly pop bands surely!

I was just pointing out that Amy never said anyone would want to be annorexic or even suggested it. She just said despite Mel C having annorexia, she personally never wanted to look like her or copy her.
