Had quite a few pairs of headphones over the years and cheap pairs tend to be flimsy and fall apart quickly when you use em for mixing as they aren't built to withstand abuse. The sound quality of cheaper pairs aren't in the same league either.

Wouldn't say that's a good rule in this case:)

when i say Buy cheap buy twice, i mean if you buy cheap tac, they wont last 5 mins and you will have to buy a new pair to replace the ones you originally bought. I only recommend buying two pairs of headphones if you have more than 2 ears.:)

All depends on the usage and what price you're prepared to pay.
I agree with the previous comment about "buy cheap buy twice" - it's normally the case.
Those Technics sound good, might try a pair of them... :D

I've been using Sony MDR-V700's for about the last 10 years in which time they've been hammered "on the road" 52 weeks of the year every year and they're still going strong and still sounding good. I'd say that's great value.

I tried all sorts before these and none of them lasted - particularly as Vestax mixers in clubs tended to pop the cans one side when they were on the cue setting. :(

Hope that's of some help!

its a bit like buying teflon frying pans, dont bother with forking out fortunes on expensive german or french fryingpans that cost £50-£70 plus, its far better to buy one for £10-£15 which still has that nice non stick surface. The cheapees will last you just as long and do the same job as the pricey ones, i have learnt my lesson and this was after 2 goes with expensive rubbish :$
The cheapees last six months for a tenner and the others last the same time for fuck loads more, madness really :naughty:

I've had the same pair of Senheisser HD25 for the past 9 years, can't fault them, and they get used out 4-5 times a week in clubs. All parts are replacable too

I'd reccomend them to anyone

Well my Sony MDR-V700's finally gave up the ghost last week, but they don't owe me a penny considering the hammer they've had over the years. (see previous post)

Just gone out and replaced them with exactly the same pair for £79.00 and I think they have actually cost less than the last ones!

Here's to the next 10 years. :king:

I've had cheap headphones that either the sound was bad from new or the speakers distorted with any real volume and also were fragile.

Had a pair of HD25's for 6-7 years look and sound as good as new.

I think it very much depends on how cheap and which ones Buzz.
