Interesting watch that Ed, cheers for link - also brutal about mixers. Thought he'd be at least going on about the superior quality of Allen & Heath or Urei, but no, none of that.

yeah that surprised me as well, interesting huh?

I know I said earlier in the thread it was about the music, and I stand by that, but hearing a guy at the top of his game like that is really important. If music is to do what it's supposed to (move you) then I guess all that scientific stuff comes into play. He said it himself, it's a spiritual experience.

I've had the pleasure of funktion one sound systems a few times, and they are soooo smooth, they literally make you tingle all over. The bass is amazing and the sound is incredibly warm. If you haven't been exposed I highly recommend them!

i reckon this is as close as it gets  NS7 Numark Performance Controller with Serato ITCH you can even tweak by twiddling the middle pins, dam can't think what they are called, or even if they have a proper title, lets call them silver nipples to pop through your vinyl hole for now ! not that ive ever used this technique, ive seen lots of djs alter pitch by twisting these silver nipples.

Given you hate CDJ's I can't see you taking to that. You're all about the vinyl.

As I said I'll reserve judgement until I have a play hands on :p

You're right though - I really don't get on with CDJ's... the only ones that came close were the Denons with spinning platters... I love the feel of torque resistance... it just feels right when you put your hands on it & manipulate it phones:

TBH... I do look at me collection & get daunted by it sometimes... not sure whether it's the hours of work I've been doing the past 6 months (yes I do graft lol Facebook & here is about the only outlet I get these days)... I feel mentally exhausted even contemplating a mix :( :$

An MP3 controller like that would be a great toy to fuck about with in the meantime...

And he's all about the cock!

You know it baaaybeh :gigolo: You're next on my To Do list ;)

hahaha - bizarely someone posted on a youtube rip & upload of mine today complimenting me on my crackles lol :D

YouTube - Frankie Knuckles - You got the love

'Funky crackle grooves'- good name for a track

In fact, when I play out it's ridiculous now , because it's got to the stage, where I have a crackle effect set up on my controller just to please the vinyl purists. It's ok on old tracks, but on the new ones, punters get suspicious- they start looking up at me, so I hit the old crackle button to allay their fears.
& I really hate to admit this, but.....Now & then I will deliberately warp incorrectly in Ableton & set my cue points slightly out of synch, so that peeps think I'm keeping it real.
