Hi all,
I’m actually working with Yell at the moment so it's good to see you talking about us. We know there’s been quite a lot of interest in the track ‘Pulse and Thunder’ by the DJ in the new ad, Day V Lately.
It’s actually available to buy on iTunes (as well as a trance remix) at Pulse & Thunder - Single by Day V Lately - Download Pulse & Thunder - Single on iTunes. It’s currently at number 12 in the dance chart.
If you want a preview of the track, you can also listen on YouTube: YouTube - Day V Lately - Pulse and Thunder (original mix).mov
Cheers,
Jonny
Trances roots are definately in the eighties. Tunes like the Eurythmics Sweet Dreams spring to mind, proper synth heavy tunes like that. Then theres all the really 80's stuff like Human League synthy stuff.
ueRoots, perhaps... i'd say disco like this was more its roots tho...

By 1992 I definitely remember people already saying that Sasha had started to play trance though, so trance as a distinct genre had certainly started to creep in by then.
i was well onto it back in 92-94 era, techno and acid and trance played by DJs like Sven Vath on labels like eyeQ, Logic, rising high and harthouse etc... i just used to call it all 'Euro Techno' back then, including tunes like energy 52 (first heard that at still in school in '92) 'Prophet' by Sequential and even 'love stimulation' by Humate hearing it all on mixtapes with stuff like 'acperience' by hardfloor
this was a good comp back in '93
