Its waaaaay too quiet and sad to see , im one of the guilty parties who doesnt come on here as much any more, not sure why others dont come on though i havent been about as much due to the music policy change a while ago and to be 100% honest feeling slightly like osa was becoming a pureist vinyl hang out with the many djs who do use mp3s due to cost of set up or other personal preferences just down to liking the freedom of mp3s and software being made to feel like cheats because they havent built up collections over the last twenty years , thats not a sideswipe its just an observation as to how i felt and im sure i wasnt the only one .... i think life in general may have a lot to do with it too the countrys in recession and people are skint so therefore if anyone else is like myself you will know your probably having to work longer hours to make the ends meet nowadays , also i met a new girlie  who isnt an oldskool lover and requires my undivided a lot so theres just not much time left to do much else , also i think that the djs need listeners ive played a few times recently and granted you might get a few listening theres nobody in the shouty to talk to so you just feel like your wasting your time , i hope somehow osa resurects itself as it really is sad to see , as for music policy maybe we should go back to variation and allowing more modern stuff to be played at times as the 100% oldskool only route clearly isnt working im afraid , hope all are well and to do my little bit im going to jump on the radio for an hour or two now and hopefully someone might pop out the woodwork and say hi ...long live osa phones:

I think the server move and down time has taken its toll tbh. All its gonna take is a lil work to get folk back, for instance. Last wednesday night all I did was a lil spamming on facebook etc and I think the max listeners was 17. I dont know what it usually is but 17 is good.

Folk need to know when a live dj is on as the auto isn't helping nowadays. Although butty is coming to mine tonight and showing me how tp upload new mixes to the auto dj so hopefully fresh mixes will get folk back.

As for the vinyl mp3 thing it doesn't matter what format you wanna play, as long as its within the range of years that has been set for the site. The music policy, I stand by butty 100000000% i'm not knocking any other genre of music but the site is clearly named oldskool anthemz.

There is a huuuuuge range of different genres within house and oldskool to satisfy.

You are right tho mate, such a sad shame that things have fallen this low as I have been on the site aaaaaaaaaaages now and have seen it once thrive. Fingers crossed we can pull it back

Active Members 399 out of nearly 15,000 - this isn't good.

Has Facebook really killed all forums dead or have people just got bored of forums or old skool in general?
Not sure what will get people coming back

If anyone has any ideas however daft or crazy - they are all welcome!

here here, a lil bit of FB spamming when there is a live dj on does work. It may just be a case of ppl are used to the site being down or on auto dj.

Theme the radio? There does seem to quite a lot of the same being played. If certain nights were promoted as early house, 90's house, even current then it may attract new people. I would also suggest free style slots where one off or have a go dj's can have a try, some interesting music may turn up.

May be worth recording all live sets too and adding a section onto the board so people can come to the board and download them for free as alot of people simply want new sources for music, why not attract them to OSA and let then radio mixes act as advertising for the site.

It has gone quiet hasn't it?

Just looked now and there are 69 people - 3 members and 66 guests. I wonder how many of those 66 are actually members but looking on their phone and aren't signed in? I know I do that quite a lot.

Butty explained a while back that those numbers arn't accurate as most of them are internet spider bot things.
I just think it's summer and people do other stuff. It were like this last year.

its hard to really make sense of how and why things have stooped to this level. But it feels dead here like the heart and soul has been ripped out. we was like one big family the OSA crew. at the same time tho the experience of Osa varied from person to person. We didnt have small tight cliques as such. everyone was on the same team. But for me, yes it was about the nostalgia of bitd but not just that, it was important that people were also talking about chicago and detroit and electro and the more obscure and leftfield side of the music and culture.... equally, someone else would feel just at home here with a passion for northern anthems and piano and Italian and zone stuff..... thats what kept a lot of us here and that bit could still maybe be repaired if people were willing to get back on board and keep alive what after all is a very niche and narrow and accquired taste and passion we all share:cool:...... But another key aspect of OSA was the vibrant and healthy nightlife scene and thats the one huge big part of osa thats probibly dead and buried.... i hate to say it:(

I have not been about much latley either as moved again ! Sold both my CD decks but still have the 1210s and vinyl though I want to get a tractor 2

No Internet connection to my decks either yet

Some radio stations have taken the format of OSA and seem very successfull

Ie unity radio they have some big names on there and it's 24 7 different level I suppose

Personally I loved all different types of music albiet on set nights etc

I've been getting out a bit more of late to bowlers and retro in town and had some good nights

Shame the forum is quiet lets hope it picks up again soon

Pink makes the boys wink....
Unless you're playing house on here you're pretty much fucked! I have seen my listener count drop by 10 just from playing another genre! I think that is a factor! People are bored of the same shiz man! I play on a few other sites and get big listener counts... I love osa but feel it's falling behind!

I think it's just a busy time for many people. For us personally, we're snowed under with young kids. Ours start school soon though (one more tomorrow off the list for us - only one to go).

I'll go all out and predict a second wind for OSA - a middle age second wind. It's a stage of your life when you have too much time on your hands anyway, so you'll find loads of people on here permanently again.

And everyone will soon be sick of each other again!
