It is a mystery this one. It may have been a tape haned out on another night. I have seen evidence of such a tape. Also Paul played a another Citrus night and it could be that.

Thanks, just grabbed loads of Dave Seaman and Jon Pleased Wimmin, as well as a few others. Really liked the ambience on the Dave Seaman / JPW DAT with the noise of the club breaking through in the background. People having a good time - infectious :luv:

Got over 40 mixes coming from Wildlife nights which were the same folks as the Rhumba Club and ran every Friday for a couple of years. Some big names like Seaman etc along with more Scots DJ's. All great quality.

Hi Superwave, I stopped going to the Rhumba in 96, but Sasha and Digweed never played the Rhumba in 96 at the Ice Factory, I think. Might it have been 97? If so, the links are here:

FileFactory Folder View - Rhumba Mixes

They also played 94, (which I was at), but that was not in Perth, but in Bally's Abroath.

Peace
Jono

These links came from Seanie  and Rhumbateer , i.e. see the first post in this thread.

Thanks again. The two parts of the 1997 Kilkie Gareth Zammo Sasha & Digweed, whats goin on there?
I really dont have any clue of the tracks, though i hear familiars.

Anyone who can shed some info bout it is the SHIT!

Just got round to playing the Oakenfold set. FUCKING HELL!, how big is that? phones::rotate: It's an absolute monster of a set. I can't keep still listening in the comfort of my own house, there's some fantastic highs on there and they just keep coming and coming. He was really working the house that night.

It's at times like these that you get that feeling of euphoria tinged with sadness - sadness for what we've lost. Thank God someone taped these nights - how else could you explain what it was all about? The tunes replayed today don't come near to what that night must have been like, you haven't got the club, the crowd, the atmosphere. With people off on one they must have gone pretty mental for that, probably left the club totally shellshocked afterwards. Life would never be the same again? - too right matey

Thanks again for upping these dude, they're golden. :D

To celebrate the 21st anniversary of the mighty Rhumba Club there is to be One More Tune at the Ice Factory on 28th April 2012 (event in listings section). This is it, the last one ever (again). Myself and Rhumbateer have been working furiously over the last few months to get all the original tapes converted and hosted for all the fellow Rhumba goers to keep forever. All the existing original tapes from Waynes collection were brought back from India in shoe boxes and we have nearly finished the lot. There are mixes from early 1991 through to 1999. Some of these were never released and the quality is very good on most of them. At the moment there is around 160 with another 25 to 30 to come.

This is all about sharing so if you see anyone making money off these let me know as I know there are a lot of tossers who are at this sort of thing with other peoples work. Brady has also done a great job with the tracklists for many of these. Any dodgy links then let me know. Enjoy!!

Vive la Rhumba!

This is also my way to thank those who have uploaded so many mixes on here that I now have nestling on my PC.

THANK YOU, for uploading all these mixes. I never made it up there but I'm made up to be able to hear what the nights were like via these mixes. Cheers.

Cheers, but I can get most of them from house mixes site, Shawn has uploaded quite a few
The ogg was good, not many rules to start with or bouncers, kinda self policed its self, as most of us knew each other.
The Royal was also a god place, but too close to home if you know what I mean LOL

Something doesn't add up for me with the tracky for JPW's set at Arbroath, 27/12/1994 listed here Jon Pleased Wimmin & John Digweed @ Xmas Rhumba, Arbroath 27-12-94 I'm ok up to Escrima 'Train of Thought' and I'm deffo hearing The Original 'I Love You Baby' but I can't square the track in between those as being Annabella Lwin 'Do What You Do (Fire Island Dub)'. If the You Tube upload of this track here Annabella Lwin- Do What You Do (Fire Island Dub) - YouTube is kosha then I just ain't hearing it.

Do I need to get my lugs washed out?
