crazy prices

Forget specific sellers yeah, what do you think of this situation/Whats your view?

To be honest i quite like the high prices coz i'v got the big zone tunes which means if i need to sell (god forbid) i can get some decent cash for them. Also if you know what your doing and where to get them from, you can make a little bit of money out of them(which pays for my new records).

I totally understand the frustration for the people that have only just started collecting a few years back coz to get any of the decent ones your gonna need to spend about £50 a tune:S
unless you go to a private seller or dj.

If you had an italo tune for sale and someone says that you can get £100 for it, would you sell for a tenner? i think not. unless your loaded or a thoughly decent bloke!. So why not sell rare records for high prices, if the demand is there and people are prepared to pay then its fare enough.

Just look at other things that are over priced like shitty starwars figures for the 1970's, old comics and pieces of old crap furniture. Its all a cae of "if its rare and in demand the price goes up" .

BTW the best itaian was made between 93-96;)

Kev............

lololololol how can ya compare daisy dee and hazel dean lol aginst classics like last rhythm / axe corner / lee marrow come on kev theres no comparison - but thatw as my era its down to ages innit 93 96 is your era - but theres no comparison at all - 93 96 italian is like pop music - a pisstake of the classics - just that dj dairylea and mc cheesefingaz :p was hammering it - them yrs i was pure US goin hardtimes n tha like goin progres, even bowlers was cheesy to me to many pieheads

no way

[payin 400 brick for records when minimum press is 500 for some tunes u could re press them zone classics for 500 minimum keep a few copies for yourself and sell rest on ,,,
like me kev i hve all zone classics and all the classics from the oldskool probs 300 of the most played zone
and 700 of the most sought after piano anthemz italians from 90 - 92
but they dont justify the price they go for when there are sites that people keep under wraps like melody house , sites they buy from
like a beat street bolton (which we had )
there is many italian record shops on net that we dont know name of where people are buyin them amd melody sellin them ... if u see there is only melody house that sell them for that rpice because there is oly zone playin that style ...... zone made them prices up for thereselves hopin all others would follow , but not everyone did .... alan is right u can get a zone classic to beat the oldskool classics .... ask a zone dj even they will agree .... but piss takin is goin on for 400 brick a tune serious !!!!!!especially when its melody house makin up prices to follow , but if u see kev half the records for 400 napper are there own copies whic h they probs havin up for a lol ... and laughin if someone buys it ....
but fuck that if i can sell 5 records for a grand .... send me a cheque away cock ill sell today ,
go see pianoman ... get him set me on me way to his m8 .... re press all them 5 i just sold on one bootleg and sell rest and still have the same records and 500 brick extra in pocket and some dollars made for the press`s i got ....
kev what u got see like me m8 is cos u like zone so much like me u cant see the fact there takin the piss, and the fact that we wouldnt be abe seell em that much cos ebay people wouldnt buy em .... and unless u find some guy who is sat with a cuban with a hangvoer with his ferarri outside bein washed by some naked birds and unless he got a bang and olfesen record deck aint gonna pay 400 brick unless hes off his nut or loaded .... cos melody house can sell em like that ... we cant .. wed probs get death threats for takin pisss lol and the geordies well fuck me there big on italian stuff so are they scots cos there styles up there are like ours but I RECKON A TIME FOR KNIGHTS OF ROUNDTABLES FOR ITALIAN STLYE TO COME IN AND MAKE SOME BOOTLEGS

U CANT COMPARE BEIN A JEDI WITH BEIN A DJ ... MOST DJS ARE JEDI`S LOL

ask huxley show u his lightsabre or his speed of hand skills on a deck only a jedi can do lol

swish mate did u go to the same post writin school as al, coz i read ya posts n can never make head nor tail of em lol j/k buddy

in my view its whatever floats ya boat innit music taste wise n it does have a lot to do with how old ya r what sorta styles ya like, meself i class tunes like daisy dee as good as last rhythm but thats just my choice.

and as for tunes n how much they r well i dont blame the peeps for sellin tunes for silly amounts of money - nobody forces n e 1 to buy n e thin n it depends on how much ya want summet. if i could sell a tune for a ton or a tenner i know what id do.

swish,

i agree with you that its unfair to tell you a choon is worth nowt then sell it for a ton! thats a bit cheeky. But put that aside the man's in business so i guess he'l try it on at times.

One of my all time wants was Flower factory "feel my body" on wicked & wild records, and this lad in newcastle offered it to for £150! I even considered it. So its not just Phil who's after a quick buck i supose while the demand is there the prices will still be high. BTW i got that record now coz i found a copy of soul master "we've got energy" for less than a tenner and swapped it for that flower factory with a lad in preston:D (sacrifice i know!)

Also butty's right no one is forced to by records at those prices they do it of thier own free will, and swish if your selling any more italian for afiver atime give us a shout im sure we could do business;)

Kev............

My View

I think the bottomline is

If people are willing to buy at them prices then the sellers cant be doing anything wrong

As Kev said its just business sense (Even though it annoys me sometimes like everyone else lol)

I think the same as Kev that the best italian was from 1993-96 and half of the stuff was cheesey crap but i reckon that was down to the scene becoming mainstream as the earlier stuff was only played at selected venues and rarely charted properly as it was still being broken in

from 1993 mainly a lot of dance charted properly which sent the later italian stuff into a midway between cheesey and underground as the styles were similar

The charting of the 93-96 style bought down the decent stuff i reckon

I look at it this way as for cheeseyness

Very few of the 93-96 stuff was actually played at the majority of clubs (unlike H House & trance now)..In fact I only know of 5 clubs in the UK that did

So it cant be that cheesey really

anyone agree with me?

This post no matter how many times i redid it..it never seemed to come out the way i wanted it to so i hope you get my drift lolol

Cheers

Alan

I know what you mean Alan, the reason I went off Italian after 93 was a lot of the stuff I was hearing was cheesey, and I mean, calling My Vader type tunes, but on the other hand I have got some really good Ital vinyl from that era by DJ Pierre/DJ Proffesor, and some good stuff on Media, and I am by no means an expert in 93-96 Zone tunes, so I suppose it was out there if you looked for it and/or went to the right clubs.

Anyway, I think the consensus is that, sellers have got the right to sell, fucking I dont know, Calling Mr Vader for a billion quid and if some muppet wants to buy it then fine, on the flip side, a seller could sell something really mint like Twin Peaks Killer for 1p and some lucky c@nt would get hold of it!! Although I'm still waiting for that moment!!!

Its a buyers market:mexican:

But like I say some sellers take the piss on some of our unsuspecting (and sometimes ignorant) vinyl buying public, its like Vinyl Exploitation, I might write a fuckin book on it (but probably wont lol)

"I LIKE IT!" kev. We need a litlle bit of R.E.S.P.E.C.T (FIND OUT OUT WHAT IT MEANS TO ME!). heheheh. DJ H (herbie remix) Zone tunerooney.....

Dont really wanna jump on the old Melody House slating band wagon, but, I went about two weeks ago........just browsed through for entertainment at the prices really!!. I used to buy stuff there *years* ago, but since the silly stuff started I have just avoided it like the plague.
Its the same old stuff year in year out, because no one is stupid enough to pay £40 for a 1995 italian tune or 20 odd quid for the aatw 96 remixes of Love Decade.....

Its a shame really, cos I too loved the old zone stuff 1991-1993/4 and there is a whole stack of tunes I would buy - if they were sensible. Its not just in Melody, I admit, but if they just cut a tenner of all the prices they would probably sell shiteloads more and earn a hefty ££££.
I was temted to pay £30+ for Flipped Out Lovebomb, but I just felt that I was being took the piss out of at the counter. At the time I was on minimum wage and to pay over 30 quid for a bit of plastic was just plain daft. I couldnt find it anywhere else though - until I come accross it one day in manny for a tenner....more like the price Id pay for a top tune like that.

I keep telling myself that if ever I sold all my tunes, MH would be the place to sell 'em to. But they offer u well less than the going 'normal' rate and stiff u. Next news its on the wall 'Zone Piano tune as featured on vol 4,5,72 - £60'........They can go and :rotate: (spin!). Nothing against Phil himself - he's alright, but you can only beef your own stuff up in price to a certain level - and its exceeded that level.
So whats happened is, everyone knows its got loads of zone tunes, but everyone knows they would pay extortionate prices and therefore avoid going there. What busness sense is that!!.

MozMorris's shop was fairer prices, and that Zanzibar records was quite good too - although they both R.I.P. :(

Anyone wana buy mi Ice MC 'Bomdigi bom' for a ton??? hehehe "Zone tune - every tape volume in 1994!!"

:D

See yerz,

Sirius.
