Dancin the night away
I lived for every saturday night to come around and have the best memories of my life from every single night i went to Life@bowlers:love: . I met loads of great people there. I danced on one of the stages every week and there were the same faces there every week too you felt like you knew everyone there. Those days were some of the best days of my life i wish i could re-live every one of them. It did'nt just stop at 2am when the club closed most of the people there went onto sale water park to do some more it was ace.

I never got chance to go to a bowlers mainly cause i had no idea about it at all. I suppose the launch of the internet has made it much more well known but came to late for the likes of me and many others

Recently watched one of pixies bowlers tapes and the hitman and here video and they really opened my eyes as to wat i could have expected.

The atmosphere on the tapes looked spot on and as i have got more into oldskool over the last few years i knew or even owned most of the tracks heard in the background.

Some of the best parts of the vid were the service station antics that peeps got upto lol.

I even missed bens life reunion night he did at the cornmill which i am sure would have opened my eyes even further :D

Only ever went there once, and was tottaly off it so i dont remember that much. One thing i do remember though was that you had to walk through this pub part of it before you enterd the place, like a sort of sports bar, and i remember thinking what the fook....is this it, then walking out of the door at the other end, and it opening up into the biggest playtime paradice i could ever dream of seeing...wow it blew me away. Never went untill 94, but was still a fecking amazing night

Top thread idea m8

When me and my mates first started to go we used to catch a taxi from ashton-u-lyne just going down there used to be ace chatting bollocks to the taxi driver:fekked: Then when my mates boyfreind passed his driving test we used to be one of the first cars in the carpark. We used to get there before the bouncers and used to remember them arriving couple of huge black guys and a woman with long blond hair they were ace really friendly.

HA HAAAAA !!!!!!I'm off me head, I think I'll have some "Hot-pot!!" I remember that! Some right randomers were always sat in there!

I only ever went to "Compulsion @ Bowlers". But it was ace as. The best rave ive ever been to. Although Raindance wasn't better only coz it didn't have the northern charm!!!!

I was'nt as big a regular as some of you guys but what I do recall of this unique place was:

Going to the place for the first time, seeing a huuuuuge bloke walk up to me built like a brick shit-house, and me being the Life virgin thinking I'm going to get my head smashed in, life flashing before my eyes etc..

Then the guy grabs me by the hand, nearly shakes me to death and introduces me to his equally massive mates..

Moments later, I'm in a Tennis Court chill-out room, chatting to these people who seemed to have an awful habit of pulling funny faces whilst wondering where the nets have gone...
