u know what, I NEVER got chace to go to bowlers (as I was too young) but I'm so gutted I could never go, I think I wud'v wel buzzed!!!

I remember once wen i stayed up for Lozzie to get bk and she got bk at like, 7.30 int mornin..... she was fucked tellin me all about her nite out and we were sat there eatin custards....... he he! That'll B me with my bro soon, comin home off my tits havin a chat with him about my nite....

gutted to have never been tho coz from what I gather it wud'v been somethin I wud'v really enjoyed! x

Some bad, but mainly good, in no particular order:

Going in for the first time and seeing the size of the place!

Having one of the best clubbing nights of my life NYE '92. 3:45am Brothers Luv Dubs - Mighty Ming getting dropped just before end of night!!!!!

The snow machine!!

Sound system fucking up and going off for 10 minutes. When it came back on (after mainy whistles/jeers) DJ dropped Energy Flash. I was at the back and tried running to the front but the strobes came on full and I couldn't see a thing!

Sat on the bouncy castle and just at the same time that my snowball was coming on it deflated. Got stuck and wrapped up in it!

Inflatable slide at the back. Climbed up it to av a go when fucked. Got to the top and realised it had no sides and was bloody high up!! Bollocks!!

Getting spiked with a trip by some mad old geezer. Didn't really realise until the morning after!!

Seeing a guy we called "Mr Fucked Up" every weekend. Always wore grey shorts and grey tip, shaved head and eyes the size of very big black things!!

Will write more later if I remember............

I remember getting in Bowlers once and the TWATS telling you that they had forgot to apply for there entertainments license .

Oh and by the way we have to shut at Midnight

But we will be switching to a Friday night for 5 weeks

Hahaha - I was there that night and it was good. Think it was the last time I went though as I began to prepare smaller venues than the warehouse stylie.

Having just found this thread......a few weeks late (but never mind!!!) Couldn't help but come on to agree with everyone bout all the fantastic memories...!!!

There really wasn't a better feelin than the one you knew everyone had from the minute they reached the car park (coz 9 times out of 10, all manner of mad shit would have happened on route!!!) I distinctly remember driving past a car vertical up against a tree on the Dumplington roundabout (which is know more!!!) Everyone was fine, they just left the car there and headed off to dance..... sums it up really!!!


Every night was a blinder and afterwards at Rivington was chaos!!! I've also got bout 200 photo's from inside.... would love to see your videos Pixie... My photo's always make me laugh...

First time there, 1994 being straight all night ( was only 15)
the first time i walked up longbridge rd and heard the thud thud thud of the music
My first NYE in 1994 - and then the saturday nights that followed (every single one!)
Seeing Ratpack, Rozalla, Baby D (when there was a power cut), Grace, Stax, Dream Frequency,
Bob and Dean the bouncers
Meeting some of the best people, most of whom I am still good friends
Chatting complete biscuits to strangers!

Wicked place Bowlers was.

I can finally add my own comments to this thread after Saturday!

walking down the steps to the dancefloor was mental! absolutely huge!! sea of people propper buzzin!!! welly starting his set with evolution - metropolis and run to me acapella! quality!! getting there early doors and having a wonder on the carpark too was mint - everyone just mega excited!! cant wait for the ultimate revival night in July!!!
