On Cloud 9!!!
My mate Damian has played there a few times....its ok the music is very funky house and the women think an awful lot of themselves......my other m8 got her purse nicked in there too......... :(

i dont like the place myself and i dont mind a bit o funky house from time to time but i do find the crowds at these places worry far too much about they look like rather than having a good night!

it was a 'joke' i should hav been more specific.... when people act 'up on themselves' with me i show them that actually their not!, i'm enjoyin myself more struttin my stuff on the dancefloor (even if im sweatin with me hair dripping) than them standin lookin like 'dolly birds' or 'james bonds' :p
those types r just listenin to the music phones: ..im feelin it ......
i dont get put off by them sort!! why the bloody hell should i!! dont see why anyone would unless the place was rammed with em.

Northern Star,

Did you actually go clubbing in the early 90's? I aint talking raves I am talking dance clubs, venus, renaissance etc..... this is what it was like, if you werent dressed right you wouldnt get in etc etc. You had to put on an act to get in...... Having read Valentinas post she was messing not saying she was like that. Nowadays they let anyone in to get their cash, years back it they could be a tad more selective, which gave decent clubs their exclusivness...... chill out!!!! I know they should be so materialistic but that it what it was like.

too true lisa, i cant say i dont prefer a club packed with well dressed people to a club dressed as scally wags , and yes i wish clubs would be more selective nowdays .i like upmarket clubs but without attitude just cause people make an effort n look good there is no excuse for the attitude, but i do find that when i go dressed to the 9's in a club some people 'sterotype me' cause im well dressed but they soon realise we're not all up our arses! :p

Another response

OOps a few typos - I obvioulsly meant 'shouldnt' be so materialistic. I prefered the raves where you could wear what you want and not be critisied... much more fun!!!! People do like to dress up on a night out so I say let them, if they have it let them flaunt it, the poor buggers may have to spend the whole week at work in a suit, I know I have to. I remember the fluffy bra days...was there really any need???? Yes I went clubbing then but must say I did not wear a fluffy bra, could have done, had the body (then) to but chose not too..........

People should be able to wear what they like regardless..... if they dont like 'that sort of thing' then they shopuld go to another club.

Nearly 30 now and hate the " LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME" POSSE........ lol

I've been

I can get in there for nothing so I've been a couple of times. full of students on their "gap year". their gap year in effect has lasted 5 years but they still stick to it(easily spotted as everyone is referred to as guy everything is "fantastic and every sentence is finished with yeah, right). I do think you have to dress like a cock/david beckham/boyband member to get it in(not me as i'm in the know oooh aren't i billy big time says me in a sarcastic voice]. it's more a look than a label lead thing. let's just say you if you're a lad you could go in cp company jumper,a bathing ape plain blue jeans or chords and jones company loafers with the traditional number 2 haircut all over and in my opinion look smart but be knocked back at the door whereas disco gap year dave could turn up in his fcuk tee shirt ripped, dirty jeans from primark, crap shoes from the discount rail at aspecto and the good old spikey peroxide blonde mullit and be welcomed in(i've recently heard the term for this breed is nutz lad, i shit you not) with open arms. to be honest and in my opinion funky house is not very good, but then again it's stlightly better than the appalling scouse house/hard house that seems to be evergrowing. my traditional routine when attending this place is to have spliff round back with mate go in stand at bar watch people dance laugh at them and repeat 8 times over throughout the night. rather a boring night i'm sure you'll agree however the missus likes this sort of music so i have to keep her sweet with trips to these overated functions.

yours in good faith

it's fekkin crap. So what if your clubs posh. The atmosphere is bobbins and the music is instantly forgetable. Plus the beer is just as expensive as e's were in their hey day. Leave all the idiots with their half breed mullet and spiky hair do's to sniff their shallow and uneducated brains away

she's not here at present

however i'd suspect she'd say the same as myself except she likes the music and likes a boogie. whether this down to a) her being less judgemental than me and finding it easier to move with the times of an ever evolving house scene or b) she'll listen to any old shit. i know not, yet. . however it could be that she's been taking the piss all along and only wants me to take her so that she can get in for free so she can go and perve at the mutant mullit "guys" strutting their "funky" stuff.
let's be honest here it's probably the 3rd option.

if you wanna listen to funky house then go to 2kinky at the view. Now thats full of people who want to have a good time, the music is better and it's not full of tits showing of their new prada shirts. Do these people not know that the football hooligans are now wearing prada

oooooo errrr :$ this thread is turnin into an anti posh club n fashion lark! :naughty:
surley its not how peeps dress and id prefer to dance the night away in a nice club rather than a dark dingy one though as long as the crowd was 'up for it' and the music was too my taste id hav a great night.so is most on here sayin that its full of twats? not i the sense of the way they dress im thinkin more about the way people act, can they party? do they dance the night away ? thats what i mean about a good club and whether i should go? ;)

it's not an anti posh club

okay i don't enjoy it in there. i find it amusing laughing at the marketing managers/recruitment consultants(all on there gap year) that populate the dancefloor gyrating in their ripped gap jeans and prada red label shirts thinking there part of some new manchester type scene.(there not)
personally if it was down to me i'd force feed the fckers a bag of magic mushys watch them all fuck up and nick all there wallets for both diservice both to fashion and music. but thats my opinion and thats not going to happen.

i do tend to agree with easty that you may like 2 kinky better as i know some good lads that go from wigan that go and rate it however i can;t get in there for nowt so i'm not forking out as i'm a proper mingebag on anything bar clothes i believe noggy of ex legends fame plays there.

however it's down to your individual tastes and preferences and if you think you'll like it and want to do it then do it and enjoy it and don't listen to people like me as i know fuck all anyway.

your faithfully
