Seen as i am bored i am gonna be contraversial (hey sweet)

I have sat and read this whole thread and although there are some tunes i agree with on the whole i do disagree with loads.

My main reason is i only really got into oldskool about 5 yrs ago and i am not as old as you two paul and chris :p The main reason you will hate these tunes will probably due to over hearing them but i know for certain you have had quite a few of these in your hands paul as i saw a few of them that time i came to york. You have to remember there will still be members who are just getting into the oldskool scene and prefer the more anthemy side of the scene rather than the older variety like the hazy vibe. For this reason a lot of us will still continue to play anthems along with a few rarietys.

I didnt start collecting tunes for the reason of collecting like some of you. I bought what i wanted to buy based on whether i would play the tune or not. I have also not really sold many tunes in the years i have been buying so will still have a pile of stuff i am tired of now also. It took me ages to get the rare pianoman tunes like the finest and rock and move and although some people are tired of them they will still get a good reaction in venues that i would prefer to play although i havent tried them on PR lol.

At the end of the day we will all buy/play what we like and it would be a boing place if we all played the same so while some of you are moving away from the anthemy piano type tunes you will find other dj's sticking by them and thats why you will probably continue to hear some of these most hated tunes for years to come as they will still be oldskool to the young peeps coming through and this is one of the reasons they still get played at places like timeless and goodtimes.

Its each to there own really. Please dont think i am writing this to cause any shit by the way, theres been enough of that to last a life time recently just thought i would air my views.

Feel free to reply

One strangely awful record crept it's way into my collection back then. Only the very unlucky will know this. It was a hard Italian instrumental version of Jingle Bells, and for some reason a copy turned up in Eastern Bloc in late 1991. There was general shock that anybody had bothered to make such a bad tune, let along press it to vinyl. I have no idea why it ended up in my bag. I didn't hand over any money for it, but they didn't pay me to take it off their hands either. It was a white, and I think I didn't write the name on it, so hopefully I will never find it again.

Twin Peaks Killer - In the Mix

leads to nothing for me, jus boring

Expose - Tell me why

jus pure cheese imo

Prodigy - Your Love

normally luv that kind of stuff, but there it jus fails

DJ H Feat Stefy - I like it

Brothers in Rhythm - Peace & Harmony

Totally dig 'Such A Good Feeling', but this 1 is way too much screaming for me.

its madness  I'll tell you for a fact that some of the tunes being dropped here had huge crowd reaction back in the day and i bet some of you had your hands in the air to em. When Rhythm is a Mystery first got play it was huge in all the different clubs at the time , the same can be said of Brothers in Rhythm and alot more listed here. Try to dinstinguish whats actually Shit and what has been overplayed. I too could easily list 10 or 20 tunes that i now am not fond of , but to call them shit  A shit tune is one that you first heard and thought "whats this utter pish ?" and continue to think of it in that way. Cmon folk , its easy to rip the so called cheesy ones . Have a real think , then maybe we truly will see a tru shit list

Spot on that, I remember loving hearing K-Klass - Rhythm Is A Mystery (Remix) and was often back to back with Control - Dance With Me, usually after a load of harder stuff, which made them even more 'hands in the air' tunes

Still love K-Klass now, think its a really classy record, espesh the sexy sax breakdown :)
