As far as the whole debate goes though. It does seem for some people over played means shit. I really don't see the connection myself. It's all very eliteist.

A tune is either good or it's not surely. Just because a song has been over played, over covered, or over remixed doesn't make the tune shit.

Agree with this statement Jonno

i find it somewhat contradictive to say 'i loved this tune when it first came out......but now i think its shit' :|

if im honest...the tunes i have put up ive never liked from day dot......so that to me for my taste is shit  there are tunes i listened to back in the day which i wouldnt really entertain thesedays cus they have been hammered...but that dont make the tune crap.....just means im fed up of it  the tunes dont change....we do ;)

That is true we do change. Its not the tunes fault if we begin to detest it over the years of hearing it played over and over again.

I still like some shockers like Solo - Rainbow but I'm not going to be offended if someone else says they don't. I might try and defend the tune for a bit - dunno why cos it is horrendous but its memories as there's alot of tunes I didnt like to start with (most named on this thread) like Collapse - My love (there's another to add) or that first breakdown in Rhythm is a mystery that makes my heart sink into absolute depression.
BUT I have to admit I got rid of loads of my records mainly because they are over played. There are some which I never want to hear again as my original memories of certain tunes have been killed off due to this fact but yet again its not the tunes fault ;) :D
Like I said earlier, for every one I dislike there are loads I still love and my collection is now mainly those records and nearly 100% complete :D

I'd forgotten about the wave of children's TV theme tune tunes which flourished briefly. For all that K-Klass has come in for a dissing for Rhythm Is A Mystery remix, a genuinely bad tune which they did has got to be their Wildlife On One effort. I can't remember how many other "kiddie" tunes there were, but I am sure there were more than just these two.

I think that Solo was Steve Williams.

I haven't read all this thread, but has anyone mentioned the "rave" version of auld lang signe?

thankfully I've never heard it out anywhere, but I have heard it on a few tapes from around 91. Possibly Grooverider or someone?

Can anyone own up to owning this abominantion?

I know what Pauly means with some stuff being overplayed, and with Jonno where if it was a classic, it still is a classic, even if its over played. Basically everything boils down to the Beatles in Ed's world, and old skool is no different. I can't stand Hey jude and let it be anymore, they are great songs, but they knock me sick. However Tomorrow never knows and got to get you into my life and 'for no one' (shits on yesterday, never gets played) are true gems.

(Ed is obsessed with Revolver at the minute, everyone on here should own a copy by law)

Your Love - the Prodigy, still gets the hairs up on the back of my neck. Bassline.

With you on Peace and Harmony though, I always thought it was shite!

i get suspended for a week and probably the biggest thread in music chat for a while is another I hate thread by the usual suspects. Get a fukkin life, I thought this website was for the love of old skool. I would not mind but not one of you's gave a decent reason for not liking a tune. It was no suprise that it was same peeps again by and large with vast lists of tunes they hated (you know who you's are). But they must be right and all the rest of us must be clueless idiots with poor taste with them being the epitome of cool and good taste.
What do you reckon if i set up a website www.IH8OLDSKOOLANTHEMZ.COM
With all the reply's to this thread it's sure to be a sure fire winner is'nt it
Now i am all for a good debate about music, but this thread is not good debate

can u get suspended for another week ;) :p - its not a case of that well for me anyway there was just tunes i hated back then that maybe other people loved and still do but i really did hate bits n pieces  some of the tunes that were hated by other people i liked as im sure if u read from the thread u will see and other ones that people loved i hated but if we all liked the same tunes it would be a very dull world - can u imagine it in a club every dj would be playing the same sets - long live debateable debates :D

Personal opinion is not about being right or wrong - it's personal - so if i say 'You got the lovin' By Candi Staton is shit - then it's shit ( in my view ) cos I fuckin hate it!! You can't tell me i'm wrong because it's my view - and i'm not trying to push it on anyone - and as far as i can see - this site is about personal opinions that are expressed about oldskool - it's nott www.letsalllickweachotherscreases.com is it???

Get a grip easty - stop slagging people off for their own personal opinions ffs - fi you don't like the site - stay banned.

I LOVE OLD SKOOL ANTHEMS!!!
I just never want to hear these certain tunes I've mentioned in this thread ever again and thats my choice for two reasons... I thought they were pants (my opinion) and most were overplayed back then and still are :turn:
But thank God these tunes are the minority as in my opinion there's thousands of better tunes out there :D

I am sorry but where have i slagged anyone of, can you please let me know where i have actually said anyones name. Nothing wrong with having an opinion. Thats the whole point of music chat is'nt it? I thought it was a place where you could discuss issues about music. What i did'nt think was that it was just a place where you listed tunes you hated, a kind of anti discogs shall we say. Now in this thread I have not seen many posts with i hate this tune BECAUSE and then a reason. Just a list and loads this tune is SH1T, now thats not music chat is it.
Now if someone was looking at the site and thinking of registering, then they read this post and it was just a blatant disregard of the music they liked without any reason why. Do you think they would register. I don't, I think they would have the same opinon as me, something like what a load of pr1cks.
I would not mind but it's the same people who slag tunes of, who slag nights of and who seem to have a negative attitude to everything.
Now as for your point about staying banned, you might not actually think so but somehow i have actually made some good friends on this site. They know me for the way i am and they know I am not not an ar5e licker which then rules out one of your other points.
Now if you find lists of tunes that people hate without reasons interestsing and stimulating then there is something very wrong with you

lol i think that people will be more likely to be put off by your victor meldrew approach to posting easty than the threads themselves :p

at the end of the day everyone has tunes they dont like. im sure you do. go on tell us dood, it wont hurt :D

were talking about peoples opinions here. people can like or dislike whatever they want. noone can tell someone that there opinion is wrong or they shudnt post there opinion and i think the most hated old skool tune thread is jus the opposite end to most favourite tune thread.

anyways back to the topic now. my most hated tune is that sweet louise thing. does me piggin nut in, sounds like boy georges follow on to kamma b@stard chamaeleon

can we try n keep it on topic too, nice one ;)
