One strangely awful record crept it's way into my collection back then. Only the very unlucky will know this. It was a hard Italian instrumental version of Jingle Bells, and for some reason a copy turned up in Eastern Bloc in late 1991. There was general shock that anybody had bothered to make such a bad tune, let along press it to vinyl. I have no idea why it ended up in my bag. I didn't hand over any money for it, but they didn't pay me to take it off their hands either. It was a white, and I think I didn't write the name on it, so hopefully I will never find it again.

I'm sure Iv got that tape somewhere. Used to tape Sunset 102 radio shows and they started a broadcast with it (must have been near crimbo!)

Fogot all about that tune lol

Gotta agree with silocybe, alot of the tunes mentioned are great tunes.. but I know where Pauly n Biskit are comin from...

Iv had girlfriends that I used to love and thought they were great...

But i hate a few of em now ;)

Spot on that, I remember loving hearing K-Klass - Rhythm Is A Mystery (Remix) and was often back to back with Control - Dance With Me, usually after a load of harder stuff, which made them even more 'hands in the air' tunes

Still love K-Klass now, think its a really classy record, espesh the sexy sax breakdown :)
spot on jammer!

Oceanic - Insanity

I didn't like the tune to start off with, but I got dragged to Walkers Club Cafe in Newcastle ("its the best night oot in toon"), where the warm up DJ still did 'the patter' between songs and they played Insanity at least three times during the night.

chucked me arms in the air a few times to that when it first came out lol

i quite liked the original e.p. when it were first released for 'systems exclusive' and 'tres percussio'. i'll have to dig that out for a spin.

i can't think of any tunes i 'hate'. at all. i've no time for that, i just take em or leave em.

I've got that, but I'm convinced it's not Italian. I'm sure the stamp is fake.

I've upped the Jingle Bells before on here I think. It truly is diabolical. The b-side (or a-side) isn't terrible, although it is one of those techno meets piano affairs I've never been keen on (a la Playing With Knives etc).

I'm sure it's by Urban Hype.

As far as the whole debate goes though. It does seem for some people over played means shit. I really don't see the connection myself. It's all very eliteist.

A tune is either good or it's not surely. Just because a song has been over played, over covered, or over remixed doesn't make the tune shit.
