has anyone actually met sasha to say hes arrogant or got his head up his own arse?
People move on and progress, maybe he thinks theres no point me playin that old stuff and theres thousands doin what i was doin 15 years ago so whats the point.
Plus amelie would you wear the same clothes u were wearing in 1990? I bet you look at pictures of yourself and cringe and think thank fukk i dont have to waer them anymore. sasha probably feels the same about his tunes
Now form the sets I've heard, I am not inmot sasha at all but for peeps to come on here and call him arrogant if they have not met him or spoke to him is a bit poor
I have read enough interviews, heard enough through the grapevine and shit to know he is a bit of a bell end re: old skool. You don't have to meet someone to form an opinion, you can do so on the bits of info you have. The irony is of course i doubt he would meet someone like me to discuss his twatish attitude to old skool for me to change my views!
As for the clothes, its a completley (and slightly daft) comparrison. My clothes did not catapult me into fame and fortune, nor did they give me the creative licence to do what i want with the rest of my artisic life. If they did, i am sure there would be a precious space reserved in my wardrobe for them, and for both posterity and nostalgia i would give them a good dusting off from time to time as a thank-you.
As for him feeling the same cringetastic response to tunes as i do to say, erm Troop lol and more lycra than you can shake a shitty sticky stick at (and lets not even metnion the frikkin perms), i do have to ask how much passion he had for the records in the first place (if what you are suggesting is the case). True, i do not for example have some bangin (lol) old skool tape on at 8am whilst eating my toast, but i certainly feel a flip in my tummy whenever i do listen to a great track from back in the day. I am also proud of the whole movement, and feel incredibly honoured to have played (even a minor) part in it. I certianly would never ever look down on it or judge myself to be above or better than it now my tastes have changed.
Imo its kinda like remembering, and thus respecting those on the factory floor when you make it to the top. All it takes is a little appreciative nod in the direction of the punters who travelled miles and payed thier hard earned cash to put him where he is.
